Sure...but they are pretty much already covered up by the primer. You can't see them...I ground them flush...I need to do pics all around before I paint it so I got good documentation of before and after.

I haven't done seam sealer yet though...

I bought a big roll of green masking paper today....36"

there ya go.... did you step up and buy a 5 gal pail of cheap thinner for cleanup?

I have about a quart left in the 5 gal drum I bought last year....guess I need to get another....

I was also looking at a Devilbiss Starting line with 1.3mm nozzle...I have been pleased with the primer gun....once I learned how to use it...

Will one nozzle spray both base and clear?

you'll want 1.3 for the base... for clear, you generally want a 1.5 to 1.8...

you can shoot it thru a 1.3, but it needs to be a bit on the thin side...

Obvious question is...could I use the 1.8 primer gun to shoot the clear?

what happens to the finish when you spray thick clear as opposed to thinning it down for a smaller nozzle? which is more likely to cause runs? :dunno:

thin paint will run easier, thick paint has more orangepeel... general rule of thumb for clear is spray thick your first couple coats, than thin your third and any successive ones down a bit...

Oh crap...variables...

I'm sure it'll be fine... let me get back to ya on spray specifics for it when I get a chance to peak at the #'s...

I can't do $600 gallon on the paint and clear...I got $400 to do on the trim, $600 on the wiring harness...probably another $500 on weatherstripping and rubber components...

I would have loved to have put the best on it...but it's waaaaaaaaaay more expensive than I even imagined...I was thinking more like $300 a gallon...but 2 gallons at $600, 2 gallons of clear at $600 and thinner and reducer....About $3000 :eek1::eek1::eek1:

Is there anything cheap that you can spray that will simulate the feel of actually shooting clear or base? I would like to spray some first...
