Ryoken's Guide to Rust Treatment and Bodywork 101

I;m thinking about buying a new cheap set and see if they fit...maybe the newer ones will be made wrong and actually fit...:dunno:

So, once again, these things were never tightly fit even from the factory...but I at least want them flush.
Got to find a way to get them to go on flush and I will be happy.

Today was a good day...

The chirping stopped...

I got the tail Lights on straight...

and I cruised over to a nearby small town that was absolutely a ghost town today. I took a few pictures...although it isn't anywhere near complete with interior, rollbar, vent windows...etc...
I felt like this set of pictures sort of captures small town America and old Chevy.

It is ironic that there isn't a soul in that little town and there isn't a driver in that truck.

Thanks Craig! I'll put the 8x15 wheels back on in a couple weeks and get some photos with those wheels on.

I can't wait to get some of the interior back in...it's noisy like an empty drum and I can hear every creak and squeak...need to get some dynamat down and carpet and get the doors put back together and it will be much quieter and smooth....

Looks good!

At least put the roll bar back in. Did you paint that the same color as the body?

Even though still unfinished...it must give you a lil chubby as it sits already! :D

Spielberg has some compression going on with the camera lens

so, I guess the question at this point is are you gonna do the door lettering, and maybe some removable red lights for the rollbar?

see that...it is compressed or shortened by about 10%...he does that in a lot of scenes...I compressed this photo and it looks about the same:

nah...not unless I am on Martha's Vineyard...then I would be tempted...:haha:

I don't really want to make it a parody...but the research on the paint color paid off didn't it? It looks spot on to me...

I'm getting mixed comments on the color...seems people either love it or hate it.

I think the solid just looks so different from todays paint that it doesn't "sparkle" enough for the younger folks. It's perfect for me...it's the 'dream" color. In 1974 even our refrigerators and ovens were that color...either avacado green or harvest gold.

It sure feels good to see it coming together so well...
