Just a fun truck. Daily it for the most part and hit the trails on the weekends.
Been daily'ing the truck without issue.

Planning on taking it up on a popular trail here local to Colorado Springs called Old Stage Road, gonna venture off on this trail called Mount Baldy which I hear is real simple.

There are a few other trail that I wanna hit, one is called Saran Wrap, the other is Eagle Rock. Might hit them in the next few weekends

The threads in my trans mount were in bad shape. I've known this for awhile but just got to it today... 31/64 bit and a 9/16-12 tap gave me some fresh threads and let me use a larger bolt.

I had to open up the top bushing holes to 9/16" for the bolts to pass through and I used some of the steel sleeves that come with poly bushings for leaf springs (cut em down to size) as the sleeve that sits between the upper and lower bushing.

I also used a piece of 3/16" strap that ran the length of the two lower bushings to give it a little more beef. Split washers and some fat flat washers on the bolts up a against the strap. Doused the threads of the bolts with blue loctite too.

All of the bolts that hold the trans/t-case mount together were just a tad loose... got em all tightened up and I think that may have fixed a small leak that I had between the trans and adapter.

Wanted to get that straightened out prior to hitting any trails, I'd hate to mess my junk up and be stuck in the middle of nowhere over something so easy to fix.

Took the truck out Friday afternoon up a few trails, nothing extreme but enough to test the truck out.

It did great out there minus a nasty hill that I tried to charge a few times. The carb wasn't having it lol.

Had a good time up there and stayed the night.

Picked up a new piece for large game while I'm up there. Brought a .45 this time and after coming back down I dont think it would be adequate for bear so I picked up a Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan .44 Mag. Should do the trick if the time ever comes.

Now that the truck is pretty much complete (for the time being), running well and can do what I ask of it offroad I'm planning on focusing on my '46 Flatty. Needs a re-wire, re-gauge, seats recovered and some different wheels with a little more backspace.

I was gifted a winch bumper from a buddy of mine today. I dont think its a Warn due to it not having the "W" stamped into it near where the winch would sit.

Theres no bottom plate, foot forward mounting only.

Maybe a Hickey or something else.

Whoever had it before him welded some hot mess onto it and it took me quite a while to get what was left of one of the brackets off... I went slow so I didn't grind into the actual bumper itself. Gonna get the other side done tomorrow.

I'm going to have to weld some plate to it so it will actually mount up. Gonna have to be butt joints to the mounting brackets that are built into the bumper since they aren't long enough to reach the frame. Planning on fish plating it too so it's stout.

I've got some 1.5" DOM in the garage, thinner wall stuff, 1/8" or so. I was planning on using that running off of the bumper at an angle and mounting it up to the frame rails behind the B52's.

Might be overkill but it'll stiffen up the bumper if I bash something and it's x2 more mounting points to keep the bumper attached for when I have to pull a line.

Acquired some new parts for the 'Squanch.
- '94 Chevy NV4500
- Passenger drop 27 Spline NP241C w/ VSS
- Driver drop 32 Spline NP241C w/ VSS

The driver drop 241 was mated to the 4500, gonna swap the 32 spline input out of that case into the passenger drop case.

Gonna SYE the passenger drop case.

Best part is that I got to help the guy pull everything and nothing got dinged up in the process. Got everything for the low low too!!! This is all going behind a Gen III 6.0 (LQ4) with a fresh set of 243 heads and a Comp Cams 224/230 112 LSA cam.

Threads in the bellhousing holes that mate the bell to the tranny are fookin clapped out real good.

No worries though, there's enough meat in there for me to drill them out for a 1/2" tap.

Kill two birds with one stone, freshly cut threads and some standard G8 bolts.

I won't have to open up the holes on the face of the tranny either.

Tapped them holes out.

27/64 bit and a 1/2-13 tap.

The bit didn't really even touch the old threads... just barely so I tapped new threads over the clapped out threads. Came out good, I can thread a 1/2-13 bolt in all of the holes and the bolt wont wiggle.

When it all goes together the threads in the bell and threads on the bolts will get doused in blue Loctite and we'll be good to go.

Man I’d swear that was my neighbors old truck when I was a kid, small ranch by my Dads place in Larkspur. Haven’t seen that truck since they sold it when I was 17-18 (just one of a dozen squares I should’ve bought and didn’t) but it has to be the same truck. Bone stock ‘79 K20 custom deluxe rubber floor mat truck, 350/465/205, don’t remember if it had a 10-bolt or a 44, but it had the original bright yellow paint on it just like yours. Maybe look through your old registrations if you have any, or do a title search if you get bored one day. If you find last name Neilson in Larkspur, that’s it.

Anyway I like how you’ve built it, it’s a cool truck:waytogo:

Saw it for sale recently, what’s up?

Definitely has a 350/SM465/205.

Customer Deluxe. Has the Camper Special emblems on the sides of the cab and it had the Camper Special SPID in the original glovebox.

Still has a rubber floor mat in it too.

I dont have any previous paperwork on the truck, I got the title in my name and left anything previous in it's past.

I do have it up for sale (go figure lol), not too many bites at it yet. I dont mind keeping it though.

If it does end up sticking around I'd like to do a simple flatbed and get all the exterior lights working as they should.

It's a pretty solid truck!

I havent been on here in awhile. Lil update I guess.

Sold both of the LS engines I had (4.8l and 6.0l), sold the passenger drop NP241C, working on selling the NV4500 and driver drop NP241C.

Trying to clear a lot of the Chevy stuff out of my small garage.

Picked up a '71 CJ5 with some neat features and I've been driving that around here and there.

The '46 Willys is still in the garage and I've been working on the re-wire here and there in order to sell it.
