...just discovered this thread...beautiful pics! I recommend always having at least a little pocket .22 with you if you go by yourself often but it's up to you. Love your spirit, though!

I live about 15 minutes away from Mineral Wells State Park, it is a real Gem for a small park with lots of varied terrain for this part of Texas. I used to take my son camping there in years gone by, hopefully I will be taking my grandson there when he is a few years older.

Hey Greg, my wife's Granddaddy is out in Mineral Wells, and her parents live in Weatherford now.

We'll be back in the area this summer for a couple of weeks.
 
I bought a sleeping bag yesterday. Reminded me of hiking. The girlfriend fits too. I been drinkin.

Been wanting to try camping solo for a while now. The older I get the more impossible it is to get a group of friends together for these things. Excellent thread, thanks for sharing.
