sas on 2003 2500hd

Not sure, it drives and looks good...lol.....drives pretty close to stock, way better than my ifs lift. Overall Rate the handling, driveability etc at a 95 it really handles good and drives excellent, no bump steer, wandering or anything

Ok..

2..Spent more time and plated and smoothed the whole front frame rails to look cleaner, still might plate both sides of the coil buckets to hide the ifs control arm holes. (you can see in the pics of the frame and coil bucket)

Wfo makes these, if I do this again "who knows" I would use these frame plates, I made some similar for 07 but at 125.00 I think the price is great and would buy them.

Oh, send over a paypal request or your email for the shifter rod:thumb:

Maybe ill buy them plates and cut em to fit on the sides of the coil buckets, i think it would look much better...thanks for the idea. I was looking at springs for the rear, prob alcan will be cheapest shipped. Pm sent for the paypal info.

why not just make few cardboard templates and have local steel shop cut them out for few bucks. might be cheeper and keeps it local.

but still there plates at the price are cheep.

Prob end up using 3/16 , making templates like said and cutting it out at work with a band saw.

I priced 4:88s today, for both sets from motive gear and install kits it comes too 650.

5.13 much more comon than 4.88 and its only 110 more rpm @ 65 for the 5.13 gears.

then eat the rice burnner cars better at red light.

Not sure if i wanted to go that low tho, if i ever go with 35s thats alot of gear.

Thinking of buying a set of these xd wheels to run in the summer on my km2s, these would stick out another inch and make it look a little better . I just picked up a set of 315/70/17s bfg muds to run for the winter, was thinking of putting them on my h2s. I just hope they dont look too small...........but its up in the air right now.

Any ideas on this one...i know no tech in that.....

Also was looking at a set of h1 beadlocks with 37 mil wranglers but not sure thats a good route yet. They have too much offset even with 2.0 spacers....so that sucks

Added the new 2x3 crossmember under the steering box, stiffened everything up real nice. I took a 1310 shaft i had from the 84 m1008, its 3 inches too long, ill get to that soon. Settled down pretty good too since the last time i posted a pic...Polished the bowtie, grille, bumper and the nerf bars

Bret im still debating on the gears....something still says 4:88s......ill have to make my mind up soon, i think when im doing the axle seals it will get the gears since it will be already ripped apart, just a little longer tho...lol.

A little update on the project, so far so good . Bring on the snow....:D

Finally i had time to work on the front shaft, i ground the cv for the most clearance i could get from it , bought the cv kit and new ujoints months ago, picked up a 1310 yoke for the 60(thanks to olanchamedic :thumb:). I figured id change the yoke from 1330 to 1310 since the 1310 is better for more angle and then all the ujoints in the shaft are the same. I know 1330 is bigger but not needed here. The shaft ended up being 29 inches flange to center of the joint.

Had a little prob with play in the steering, i ended up changing the other 3 tierods and realigning it. Other than that its been perfect since the day it was done. Drives great on the highway and also on the little trails it was on. Ill get pics tho i hope soon...

In 4wd you can tell that its the old style with the hippitie hop around corners...lol. The 241 shifts real nice and smooth into 4hi, Front shaft clearance to the side of the 4l80e is with in 1/2 inch but it was flexed and seems to work perfect. Im glad when i bought the 241 that i did get the tall flange, if not it would of never cleared the crossmember. Also not sure if i bought a bigger cv like 1350 or 1410 would it of cleared, prob if it was clocked up the larger would of worked.

(1st pic)Moved the steering stabilizer to a better less noticeable and cleaner location. Painted the skyjacker white shock silver and changed the red boot to black.

(2nd pic) Also take notice to the y pipe, I took four inches out and raised it up to get plenty of shaft clearance(looks alot closer than it is). There is about six inches of up travel till the shaft gets close to the pipe now also I get over 6 inches of down travel before it starts to bind. That should be plenty for what I need. The shaft slip is centered so it works perfect on up or down travel. The y pipe is stainless so i had to get a sleeve to lengthen it and then but weld it togeather instead of horrid looking clamps, was a little extra work but came out real nice

I put my winter set of wheels on to see how they work. I picked up a set of bfg baja ta takeoffs from trailworthy fab, put them on a set of 8.25 steel tailgunners i picked up for 75.00 on craiglist. Two pics from a lil while ago, its getting dark. A little old school madness...lol

Ill add better pics later since i know everyone will love the wheels....lol...lol.

lol.........i never said they were nice :D. I picked them up cheap, but they do look bigger that my other set, not sure if its since theres no raised white letters or not. Gonna look for a nicer set of 16.5s for the next season or gonna powder coat em black. They do stick out over an inch further that the h2's did and the tires with 35 lbs measure almost 13 wide.

I picked up a few new parts for the hd in the last few weeks. I got a set of front and rear road armor bumpers, the front one is from a 1500 so its not as huge. Its actually about 3 inches smaller in heigth. Also in the front bumper is a 10,000lb superwinch, d-rings and 4 piaa 4 inch fog lights. Ill have to mod the brackets since there for a 1500, the 2500 bumper is way too bulky. The rear is a wrap around with reverse lights and d-rings so i hope the pair look good. There black rhino liner now so im thinking of having them color matched line-x, but 1st ill try them black. Online searching for pics the color match seems to look best. Also thinking of pulling all the stainless crap off since im beginning to think it makes it look cheap.

Plus a set of bds rear 5.5 lift springs popped up that i picked up for the price of buying just one, real good deal. Now i can remove my stock springs with an aal and the 5 inch block. Prob end up using a short either 2 or 3 inch block or even cutting mine down to where i need them, that will prob work better and be cheaper too..lol.

The other parts i picked up are 5:13 motive gears and full install kits with bearings for my hp 60 and 14b . I used the nice gear ratio calculator to see where my rpms stock were with the little tires and 4:10s to what id need to get the rpms back. So 4:88s and 37s put me about 350 rpm too low and 5:13 im with in 50 rpm, perfect to me. Not sure to leave the g80 or pick up a eaton positrac that i found locally, since thats a whole carrier i can get rid of the g80. I was told that the g80 in the 14 is pretty strong but im totally unsure. I will be doing those with in the next few weeks. Then after its geared its getting either a blackbear or wheatly tune.

Also im thinking of putting wheel spacers on my h2 wheels to move them out, which sucks since i sold them last year..lol. Im thinking of going tho 1.25 all around to move all 4 tires out or maybe even just the rears to get them out to the flares.
Edit...i added a color matched pic of a 1500 for bumper referance...this is the exact bumper i have.

always liked those bumpers!

For the locker in the rear, ditch the g80 if you do not want to be frustrated. Yes it works, but yes it will also wear out quicker with larger rubber.

Also the gov lock if iirc unlocks at a certain speed or inertia "maybe someone can chime in here" , so in some cases that sucks.

The bumpers ive liked too but when i seen them color matched in google searches i had to pic these two especially since there about 1/3 of the price.

Thats what im thinking too, i dont need a locker of any sort tho just atleast a posi. So i guess ill get the eaton positraction carrier and put that in instead of the g80.
