sas on 2003 2500hd

I had a tune made and sent to me, when the change is done i will load it in the pcm. A few changes in the afr/timing and the fan speeds are about all thats changed. From what i read these usually run at 180 degrees which still will be ok for winter. So ill log that tune and send it, they look at it and adjust it and send me another. So far what they have done works excellent, blackbear performance does a great job.

I have been doing small things lately, i did a transgo shift kit in my 4l80e. It seemed to clean my shifts up and it goes thru the gears super nice. Its a little more firm but nothing crazy. The comp cams trunion kit will be next and very soon. I am now looking at a set of 60lb injectors to complement my 2.7 pulley and hd tensioner. That should get me 10-12 psi as long as the fuel pump will go that far. In a few weeks when it comes in i will be doing a supercharger cam from cam -motion. I will be doing push rods, valve springs, lifters and an overdrive crank pulley. With the cam i will loose about 2psi of boost but will gain it back with the pulley. After that is all done i will pick up a snow performance meth kit and set it up thru the maf so it comes on at 5psi and above. Finally it will go to the rollers to see what it puts out. I really hope for 500hp but am not sure what to expect.

You guys are funny, its slowly getting there. Should have a set of mtrs on black steel wheels shortly to bolt on for winter. Slowly collecting parts to do the next step. It will all be good as long as the bottom end stays together, it should tho. the motors pretty quiet and uses only a small amount of oil. The cam should waken it up some along with the pulleys.

I ended up pulling the 2.7 pulley off, since its a cut style(more grip) and i only have 6 rib belts it eats them up. So what i did was put on a 2.8 magnacharger pulley and it seems to be good again. I removed the corsa muffler tho, i couldn't take the raspy noise. I put on a magnaflow 12589 muffler for the time being, its too quiet now..lol. It will tho break in and sound good. No raspyness and its nice and deep. Monday i am pulling the stock 78mm throttle body off and putting on a 90mm ls3. I had to buy a harness to plug it in tho since the stocker is 3 bolt and 8 pin and the 90mm is 4 bolt and 6 pin. I wonder what will that do with a big change in size, also have a 4 inch cold air tube to run so their is no restriction. At the same time i am removing the 90mm idler pulleys for a set of 100mm's to get a little more belt wrap on the blower pulley. The black steel wheels came mounted on mtr's, with stainless push thru caps. Nothing fancy and it looks horrible..lol. I measured the fender heigth and the whole truck has sagged about an inch. The rear will get a zero rate and the front a crank to level. A small upgrade soon will be an 06 stock power dome hood and the 06 grille to get the body back up to par.

I finally got to swap out the 78mm throttle body for a 90mm ls3, i had to use an xlink for it to operate properly.( http://www.torquerush.com/)I cut the cold air kit 4 inch tube to fit, it worked perfect. Nice straight shot for air flow. I must say wow, what a difference. It's way more responsive and seems to run alot better. I see 11 psi now at wot. Literally hauls ass..lol. I still need to buy better clamps instead of hose clamps, they look real cheap.

Even on a stock engine the 90mm LS3 throttle body makes a big difference.

I didn't click on the link but did you need to use a 3 bolt 78mm to 4 bolt 90mm adapter? I know the wiring is a little different, is that what you mean by xlink?

No adapter was needed since the magnacharger inlet is already made for the 4 bolt. They had an adapter to run the 3 bolt. Here is a little info on all of that. The trucks and older ls1 vehicles have a 3 bolt throttlebody with an 8 pin plug. The newer ls2 to present has a 6 pin plug. You can't just swap the wires to the correct pin with a schematic, I tried it. It throws a code and will not operate. I think it has to do with the 5v references but I'm unsure.

I gave up and bought the xlink, look at the link or look up torque rush. The site has alot of pics and explanation on it. I plugged it in with a 90mm gto throttlebody and it works flawless. Now my tuner had to mess with it a little so it idles normal and so the shift points are correct. I bought a new throttlebody from gm for 147.00 and the torque rush for 235. So 400.00 about and it was well worth it. It only works tho if the inlet of the intake is the same or close to the throttlebody you are using. For instance the stock intake in wouldn't work since the inlet is smaller than 90mm. You can really tell with the response and the power from the bottom up. To do the upgrade tho the intake tube needs to be big too, that's why I did the 4 inch tube. The only restriction now is my maf sensor. I'm going to out flow it and will remove it and go to a 2 bar map sensor and go to speed density.

Alot went on today, first of all i sold the black steel wheels and mtrs that i just bought tonight. I posted em on craigslist and in 2 days they sold pretty easy but i picked up another set this morning about an hour from my house. A real nice set of toyo open country mts 37-13.50-18 on xd monster 18x9 with 4.5 backspace. They are over 3/4 tread and the wheels are spotless, ill post pice shortly... I also masked off the lock out hubs and plasti dipped the chrome caps so they are satin black now instead of chrome, i did it that way so i can peel it off later. Going from military take offs to regular tires makes a big differance, it drives, steers and handles a whole lot better. I just hope that the toyo's wear good and get decent mileage.

I have one missing piece to my suspention/steering that i think is needed. A steering box brace i think will help out a ton since the steering box isn't made to work like it does now. Wfo has a real nice brace like the one for the dodges. Simple bolt on with the sway bar bolts, its simple and effective. I ordered it friday but with ups and the holiday i won't see it till next week.

Here is the next small step before the cam, will be done in the next few weeks. Its a little cold so i am waiting for garage space. This step should get the fuel system up to where it needs to be. The 1st link below is a set of 60lb injectors, i need the ls1 style tall injectors to fit the magnacharger fuel rail. These my brother got with a car that came with a box of parts, new in the bags. Saves me a ton since they are almost 500.00 new. The 2nd link is the injector plugs, the injector harness on the truck is delphi multec 2. The injectors are the newer ev6, so the adapters make them plug and play. Also way better than cutting up the stock harness. Last is the larger inline fuel pump, i have now a walbro 190. The walbro 255 should help more keeping the fuel pressure up under demand. I am only going this route for now since my magnacharger kit came with the inline set up, both pumps are the same size and thread so its just swapping em out and done. I will probably be adding a fuel pressure gauge inside so i can keep an eye on it so it stays where it needs to be under boost.

After this i'm going to be ordering a dual 3 inch to single 4 inch y pipe and will be ordering a 4 inch duramax exhaust. That way the exhaust is all free flowing and will look good too, its pieced together now since i had to have rear 02's and i really don't like it. Now since the rear 02's are deleted i can have clean pipes. I figured a flo-pro dmax exhaust should hang in my stock tail pipe hanger and by cutting it up shorter and adding a bullet muffler closer to the front will keep it sounding decent.

The wfo steering box brace came in today, real nice powdercoated piece. Fit pretty good, holes all lined up good. My swaybar tho is super heavy to hold up to put this on tho. It was a bitch to do myself, worked out with a jack and c clamps. Heres a pic b4 I installed it, I'll get another in tha daylight tomorrow.

I finally got those deatschwerks 60lb injectors installed. Since they were about 3/4 of an inch longer I had to shim up the fuel rail. I used nylon spacers from home depot. When I started it I had a bad miss, 3 of the adapters were bad. So those I had to harwich in until I can get the right connectors to do the stock harness the right way. The pump was straight forward and took a few minutes.

Over the last 8 months it has slowly sagged 1 1/2 inches. My tires rubbed more and more. The new sets offset it different and they are wider. So I cranked the coilovers back up to where it should be.

The exhaust I changed my mind again, I bought 2 magnaflow 3 inch cats, a dual 3 inch in and out dynomax x flo and a set of tips. I had a shop do the exhaust in 3 inch stainless exiting at the corners. Below here is the new exhaust and the new stance.

Thanks, i really appreciate it. One step at a time, things were done a few times which sucks but its atleast getting done right this time.

Sure, ill see what i can do soon. Might be a little bit till i can do it. I like the sound of this better than the corsa.

Was thinking about doing the same exact exhaust on my '12 6.2. I have that same setup on my K10 but no cats. I'm wondering what it sounds like on an LS. Also is there any drone at all?
