I will get u that video, the cats aren't very big. They are just single brick magnaflows, just enough for a visual and for them to see they are there. I had the rear 02's turned off so they don't detect anything and throw a check engine light. The rear o2's are there and plugged in too look good..lol. I like the sound, it's different.

That video will take me about 2 more weeks, one of my magnaflow cats bit the dust already. It rattles really bad and the check engine lights on. I purchased new high flow cats from mandrel bending solutions, i will cut the magnaflows out and run these instead. I have to cut em out and weld em in, its too cold at the moment . We also have been getting snow every day since its been a high of 10 degrees. Here is the cats i bought...

A little update, i made an appointment to get the cats changed. I am also putting a a set of magna packs inline in front of the dynomax xflo muffler, its still a little too loud for me. So i will finally have it done on march 3rd. Then i'll get that video i said i would get. Also ordered some more motor parts, still collecting them. With this cam package and the overdrive crank pulley i should net about 500-550 hp. The power and boost should be right at the touch of the skinny pedal. The overdrive crank pulley with my 2.7 blower pulley should get me 12.4-13 psi. I also have the comp cams trunion upgrade to do also. Should be a weekend cam swap, hopefully soon.

Just clicked on your camshaft link and watched the video they linked to and man damn that's some serious awesome sounding motor! That's going to be badass!

You putting in a stall converter too or do you already have one?

I spoke to a few people that suggested this cam and its nothing crazy to beat up the top end, Its the smallest boost cam they do for the trucks. The key to this one is the helping build boost faster. The power starts right before the magnacharger starts building boost. For now the converter is stock, the 4l80e has the trans go kit in it and a deeper pan. It shifts a lot nicer than it did stock. I will see how this cam is without doing a converter for now, since the whole deal now has 130k on it i plan on having the trans done later this year. I was thinking a full rebuild along with the converter to match that cam. Or just buy a trans done for my needs...all depends..lol.

Been working alot, not much time for anything lately. The injector harness starting acting up with those adapters. I had to order all new pins and bodies for the ends. The last fix didn't work good so now it's all fixed.

A few things have changed, the cam package I thought about and changed my mind. I cancelled the order, spoke with a few people and a custom grind is needed for such a big heavy truck. I had cam motion cams custom grind done that was speced out perfectly for my truck. The specs went to 220-232, 587/578 114+2. Should work perfect, cam motion cut and shipped this in two weeks. I received it yesterday, also received all the rest last friday.

The rest of the internals came from brian tooley, .660 double platinum valve spring kit, 7.4 hardened 5/16 push rods and all the gaskets. From Colorado speed I bought a 10% overdrive crank pulley. Also innovators west 8 rib pulleys. I still need fluids and a gates 8 rib green belt.

I've been seeing rich conditions here and there and also about a 2 psi drop in boost. I have checked all the hoses, bolts, fittings etc. So I ended up using a smoke machine and found my intake gaskets leaking. Meaning the supercharger will need to come off.

So since that has to be pulled off I will pull the heads off too. I bought a set of gm performance ls9 MLS head gaskets , a set of ls7 lifters, arp head bolt kit, new lifter trays and bolts. I did buy the rest of the 8 rib pulleys too. So far I put the blower pulley, tensioner and idlers on. The balancer will be done with the cam since it gets pinned to the crank. The alternator and power steering I'll do this week. You can see the difference between the 6 and 8 rib pulleys. This whole swap looks like it will be done memorial day week. The 2nd pic and the last are the 2 boxes of parts.

Might as well right? :haha:

How much did that 8 rib setup set you back?

Here is the list of pulleys and where i bought them. I pieced the kit to save a few hundred bucks. The innovators west crank pulley was 550.00, if the truck wasn't so big an you could actually see it i would of bought it. The powerbond crank pulley does the same thing but is black and cheaper.

Blower pulley 125.00 @lc32
Alternator. 95.00 @ innovators west
Power steering 195.00 @ innovators west
Idlers. 150.00 @ lightning force performance
Tensioner. 95.00 @lc32
Overdrive crank 300.00 @colorado speed

Say right at 1k with a belt. The belt was 40.00 for the fleet runner hd green belt. I only have the skinny 6 rib belt on until i get the rest of the pulleys on. Expensive, bought it all in pieces but no belt slip in the end its worth it. Might as well for the rest is right but it will be all new and should make nice power. I'll have about more money than brains in this thing shortly...lol...

Thanks, its coming along, i tried looking for a lsa for this but had no luck finding one. I have the smallest pulley on the magnuson that will fit, its a 2.7. It should do 12 psi when its all done with the 10% overdrive crank pulley. Nothing like the extra hp instantly, i should of done this long ago.

Today the ls9 head gaskets, arp bolt kit and ls7 lifters came. Intake gaskets and the trunion tool are left and I hope to see them next week.

Only 2 more weeks and it will be all done, i picked up a few extra parts also. I was told that with a pd blower running such a small pulley that heat will come pretty fast since its close to top blower speed. So what's suggested that after 5psi of boost a methanol injection kit turn on. This will cool the air and also help with octane so that the timing can stay up too, making more power. I bought a kit from alky control, this kit has all braided hoses, metal fittings and it uses a new gm washer tank, This was when the washer light comes on you know your low on meth. This has a real nice controller, harness and pump, a light comes on when its on and can be easily adjusted. I have another 3 quart tank that i will mount in the rear passenger side under the hood. A new line will run down the passenger side and across the front to the washer pump.

Next on the list will be a new fuel pump/system. I'm going to put together a bigger pump and regulator. The walbro 255 i have now is going to be on the edge of not being enough. The pump i will swap with a walbro 450, the pump harness with a racetronix harness. With the 450 in the tank it will over power the stock on the rail fuel pressure regulator. So i will block that off and use the passenger side fuel rail for the feed, take the drivers rail and use it for the return. The return will go to a vacuum referenced fuel pressure regulator and then connect to the stock return line. This i am piecing together at the moment so its all ready to go.

Meth injection is sweet. If I ever do FI it will have a meth kit on it.

The meth injection is really a must, some think its over kill but it really helps cool the air coming into the blower. Helps keep the intake temps down too not to mention keeps the octane up so you don't need to back off on the timing as much. The alky control kit is top notch, one of the best. The fuel pressure regulator came in yesterday, i bought an aeromotive 13129 boost referenced regulator. For the fittings which was a little too expensive i used russell black fittings and 6an braided hose. That should work out perfectly and with this i can get an idle pressure of 43-45 and 58-60 under boost. I went thru alot of searching with the walbro 450, that should be more than enough for me. It will also fit in the factory fuel bucket without cutting which is a plus. The racetronix fuel pump harness is coming too, its not under the truck application tho. Its under gm suv since my trucks an 03 the connectors are the old style. 04 and up use the newer style, the harness is still plug and play too. Its basicly a stand alone harness with its own power source, that way theres not as big of a draw on the whole wiring.

Started the motor work today, it was all torn down by 9am. The trunion rocker upgrade, valve springs, seals and seats are in. Old cams out and the new ones in. Heads are back on and the headers are bolted up.

I'll show more progress as its done. Its a nice piece of mind knowing its all new in the top end now. I will have the fuel pressure regulator plumbed in and have that part done too, then the fuel pump and the new harness. Should be ready to run then, early next week .Sometime i will get to the alky kit all hooked up and read to use. I had a hard time finding vp m1 methanol local, its expensive to ship. I did find it an hour away and you can buy it by the gallon which is good. I will go get 10 gallon and have it on hand when the time comes.

The supercharger was put back on, all pulleys, accessories and the radiator were put back on. Plumbed the new regulator a little different, bolted it to the back of the supercharger and used short lines. I ordered 2 more fittings that I need for tomorrow. The walbro 450 went right in the factory bucket easily. The racetronix harness was ran and hooked up too. A few things left and it's done. Need to get another vacuum boot for my regulator, need another clip for the tranny lines and fill all the fluids. Phone died for complete pics, I'll get those when I fire it up.

Short poor quality video, idle need to be adjusted. The idle afr is too lean, everything else looks good. You can see the fancy pulleys and the wide belt, if you look close in the back you can see the new regulator.
