Panhard bar installed and steering bolted up. I'm going to connect the two ports of the cylinder and just let it ride for now until I can port a new steering box.

This is the rebuild of a rig that was purchased recently. This is to serve as a family tow rig that doesn't have a payment.
Swapped the rear wheels and tires to see where it sits. I'm thinking a shackle flip, 1" block and air bags will level it out. It will need air bags though.

Stole the stainless braided lines from the suburban. Bled the front brakes and drove it up to the gas station and over to @foylinj house to look at his new CCLB. Than back home. About 15 miles total maybe. It drives really good considering there is no stabilization to the steering. I'll try to pull the steering box this next week and port it for the hydro assist. Than it should not have any wondering tendencies at all. I was worried about the reputation of the rough country spring, but I would say its somewhere between a 90s Ford ride and the coil sprung super duties. My non lift spring 05 Dodge barely rides better.

That's a great offer but it's not in the budget yet. We're still trying to catch up on general maintenance from my wife being in school gor the last couple years.
As soon as the axle swap in the X is done the truck needs some work. Then we can look into modding it!
Mounting my air compressors under the rail to rail box. I'm going with the standard pickup bed currently due to the current unemployed situation.
One day working like this and it's a no go. I'll be taking the factory bed off right away. I'm glad I never got the compressor fully functional. Just have to remove the box, compressors and tank. No additional plumbing and wiring.
I used a wheel barrow style compressor to do some air arc gouging. Gives me hope that the 12v air will keep up.

Weighed the truck in its current form. 6600lbs
Washed the frame with degreaser. Took some time to figure out what I'm doing to level the rig out. I'm really not sure how much it will weigh. I dont really want to limit the travel of the suspension in the rear. Using airbags will only let me have approximately 7" of travel. I know that the compression of the springs will be almost nothing with the weight that the truck will see now. I originally didnt think it would be going this route. I thought it would just be camping gear and goats. Now I'm thinking and guessing the daily weight will be north of 12k. That's gonna be a lot of spring needed to be stable. I have a set of Timbren spring helpers that are rated at 8600lbs. They are not an air bag, but are a rubber bump stop. My thoughts with that is since it wont be an airbag that can burst. I'll know when they start wearing out and need replaced.

Since you wheel your truck do you air them down to nothing so they don't affect up travel?

Well darn! I ran out of the 1x4 boards. I'll have to pick some up later to finish it. Khleo will have her crate on the passenger side and the rest of my gear that I want on the inside of the cab will be on the drivers side. I'll use the stock jack storage for my concealed compartment when I'm in areas(landowners/states) that dont want me carrying. I doubt anyone will look there for anything, let alone a firearm.
