School me on CB's....?

I have a Cobra 148GTL that I run now, but I need to take it to a shop for peaking/tuning, would a radio tech be able to install a weather channel in it while it's in the shop? I know some CB's come with the weather channel, but I already have a slew of CB's, and would just like to have one added. I also have a 148NWST, because I really like the NiteWatch illumination. It too needs to go to the shop because I get no sound from the speaker, I'd like to have weather channels added to it as well.

As far as trail CB's, the Uniden 510XL Pro is cheap, and works great in my Sammi. I reccommend it for a good trail CB.

Actually haven't bought anything yet. I'm still doing research and taking in all the suggestions.


The hunt was last night. I missed it though I've been a little under the weather lately so I crashed on the couch for the night

If you can't find a real electronics store in the Valley, there's one in Culver City, right next to the 405; I bought my antenna set-up there (mail ordered the CB).
