Screw the VIAIR compressors, I FOUND A YORK!!!

I want a york but what pisses me off is the damn expensive serpantine pulley.

I gather -- not having done it myself -- you can slave the York off a second pulley... i.e. add a pulley to your PS pump or alternator or whatever accessory, then V-belt from there to the York.

I donno, all my trucks are V-belts :dunno:

I can't stand V Belt's. They just piss me off like no other. I have put serpantine on my last 3 Truck's. The last truck I had that I kept V belt's on I lost my steering multiple Time's. It was the last Straw so I started conveting.

do a search on pirate. I saw someone that took a stock york v-belt pulley (double pulley) and machined it so that a serp belt would fit on it.

You wont regret swapping the viair to a york! ive yet to find something that works better. Granted i use mine on a airbagged silverado, im sure it will work the same for your OBA setup. they fill the tanks way way faster then any viair ive ever seen. Goodluck with the swap

WOW! I know it's an old thread but I just stumbled upon this:

and this.......

Just found out about that Kilby guy leaving a bitter taste in our mouths and I'm starting to feel leery about ordering from him. If there is anybody on this board who could fab up some brackets, I'll order some from one of you....

I'm focusing on BB07 so I'm in no rush to rip out my VIAIR just yet. Gotta get lockers and spare parts and once I get back, I may dive into the York project.

Someone one here (muddybuddy?) builds brackets for the york... it's not hard to make your own if you have access to steel, torch, and welder...

Maybe you're talking about MuddyTazz?

I'll get with him when I'm ready because I have don't have access to steel nor know how to weld. Supersize75k5 might be able to do them but he's got enough on his plate with his own projects.

Well, I have a used York model # DA210-16553... I checked the Kilby site to verify the model number and it's not listed....I tried a search for a parts or model guide and they direct me to home A/C or a jeep site, etc, not helpful there either.

"E" would mean Equipment (heavy duty), "SC" would mean super compact but can anybody tell me what the "DA" means?

I don't see an "R" or "L" after the 210 so.... what am I supposed to look for to determine if it's either left or right suction???

I haven't pulled off the pulley to verify if it is a long stroke or not. Just wanted to find out what the DA means before I do anything else.

Thanks in advance.

Look at the head. It will say suction and discharge near the ports.

Thanks, that cleared up one question whether I have left or right suction.... I looked at the top and see D and S, and it's right side. Thanks readymix.

Anybody else can answer the "DA" question? :dunno:
