Im willing to bet money, that the Ebay ad, is the same guy, AS he used "discounttire.com" and "big ol' tires" in his description.... His place of employment, and bigoltrux, big ol tires....... put two and two together.. I hope somone in texas can you help you out on this one.... I belive that the internet makes people feel "secure" with ripping people off, Cuz you never see them, and you never even hear a voice. This SH!T needs to change.... keep us posted. good luck.

A letter to the Katy, TX police dept. describing the situation and a request to file a police report could generate some activity as well. If the guy is a punk, then his local gendarmes may have had some contact with him and may have an interest in discussing the current situation with him too. Sometimes the local paper has an Action Line or some type of regular article that purports to help consumers when they get ripped off. Or the local TV station. You can also find out other places he posts, such as this one http://www.truckworld.com/Readers-Rides/1rrchevysuv-pg17.html and spread the word. Maybe talking to Mom and Dad would help. A letter to the Discount Tire corporate offices stating that they have an employee who is buying tires from their own store and using them as bait to rip people off could rattle a cage or two...

Yep, I have EVERYTHING documented. I even copied that pic of his truck. When you blow it up just a little bit, you can read his license plate number. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif I can't think of any reason the police couldn't track him down, if things should come to that. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I'd really just rather have the tires (or my money back).

Maybe someone local could go see him and pick the tires? Someone being there face to face to pick them up might scare him into giving up the tires. If it worked you might only be out the cost of paying to ship the tires again.

Did you do a search for his home telephone & talk with his parents? I
d try that route. They might be very interested in what you are dealing with. I'd also check with the guys job AND the police in the local area. Let everyone know what this guy is all about. It's time to teach this kid a lesson. ANyway, just my $0.02 worth.

If you can't get his home #, definitely call the discount tire stores in the area & ask for him. Once you find the one he works at, talk to his manager. It probably won't do much depending on the manager but it is a start.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Attorney General John Ashcroft (news - web sites) said Friday 135 people have been charged and more than $17 million seized in a crackdown on investment swindles, identity theft and other forms of Internet fraud (news - web sites) and abuse.
U.S. law-enforcement officers arrested 50 suspects this week in an effort to combat the fast-growing online crime that now accounts for more than half of all fraud complaints, Ashcroft said.
Those arrested stand accused of a variety of crimes, from setting up fake banking Web sites to collect the account numbers of unsuspecting customers to surreptitiously taping and selling unreleased movies, Ashcroft said.

This reminds me of a nice feature this site lacks. A User/Store review area. Basically the idea is: When you purchase something from someone or some store, You write your own personal review of them. Thus, people can get a better idea of the type of person they are dealing with. I know of a forum that uses this method, and it works great. ( Maybe this should be in the feedback area? )
