Seriously thinking of buying and DDing this

$6,000 for that? :eek1: IMO, your cousin has been watching too much Fast-n-Loud or Count's Custom's. That's maybe a $3000 car at the very most. And since it's family, your cousin should sell it to you for $2500. There's too much work to be done to it to be asking that much.

It's a cool car, but he's asking way too much for it.

that's more what I was thinking.

now knowing cali its a great rust free piece, but the majority of cars in cal are great rust free pieces so it doesn't necessarily have that much clout when youre buying out here. i'd try to stay closer to 3, maybe 4.

I bout my 67 impala that i used to dd for 1200. Was in much better shape. Just needed a engine. I wouldn't pay more than 3 g for that car. Even though it could be Nice for 6 g you could get a lot nicer car. I was thinking you'd get a good price because its family but I saw the 6g and was like whoa there. Ouch. I got 12-15 mpg with my built 350 and transplanted th350 from a camaro. I believe it had 3.42 gears.

i agree with whats stated above. A nova is a nova, but thats no 6000 car. Especially to a family member....

Ive seen chevy IIs go for 6k that are finished and have a decent paint job on them...

I would kill to find something like here in the Midwest to DD!!!! I'm so jealous

honestly, I agree with the others.. someone's been watching too much Barrett-Jackson with dollars in their eyes.... and that market is WAY WAY down the last couple yr's.. :deal:

I figured that car is worth 3, maybe, 4 g's tops... maybe... it's not like it's a BB Cuda or something...

cool idea as a DD'er, but not at that kinda coin imo...

And to be brutally honest, that is one of the most puke looking GM products of the 60s. It honestly makes the Nova an embarrassment to the muscle car class until they got their facelift. But technically 65 was the first year for Muscle Cars as we know them, but the fact stands that is a horrible look for a car. JMO, but still. And thats a 3K max car, and thats max max max.

Wow, if any of you can find me a nova in this KNOWN condition for $3k let me know. The closer the better. I'll run down and drive it home. I'm blown away. I guess the price is high but didn't realize everyone was thinking that high. I wouldn't hesitate to change the fluids and drive this across the country. I would have a hard time trusting any other 3-6,000 dollar car to do that. Around here, $3k gets you a straight body and suspension. I did find a nice complete driver Nova for $5800, but it had 2 extra doors. But who the hell wants a 4 door?

No seriously. I'd make the plane flight for a nice, well priced 66-67 Nova.

Personally 454sub, there are a lot of dream cars out there. The only reason any of the old cars are around is because people have different tastes. Thank God for that, cause I love old cars. Mine.... 66 Nova, two tone dark metalic green and dark metalic gun metal grey.

My dad LOVES these cars.

He DD's a '62 wagon everyday...for the last 15-20 years lol

But he currently has:
'62 wagon (the DD)
'63 SS convertable
'64 wagon
'65 wagon
'65 sedan
And once he finishes my cousins car resto, he gets a '63 coupe that has my dads very first motor that he ever built (back when he was 16)

Hes had a few other wagons that hes built n sold
And call me weird but I actually prefer this body style over any other body style

63chevyII DD's one.

Well hell yeah I did DD mine from 98-07...started working on it heavily in 07-09 until. ..well.....its parked now all smashed up.

Anyway. Like others not a $6k car. 65s are nice but the less desired out of the 62-65 platform. Its a one year only for many parts.

Still very cool. And 65s have a little different front and back look to them.

If you like the 60s falcons, old darts, pre muscle car era then a fun car and people seem to like it.

Good thing its already a V8 car. Any more questions I'd be happy to help. Before you pull the trigger see what else is out there. A lot of chevyll's in CA

Yep, that is the one beauty of old cars. I have a thing in me about 58 Impalas. That is probably the worst looking car on earth, and I own a 58 2 door coupe 348 BB one. Something about how ugly it is is cool. But the one year only platform really makes parts chasing a PITA.

I really dream of the 70 RT Charger 426 4 speed that was rotting in a field sitting next to the Impala I got. Which I paid 50$ for. And the old man, who was every bit of Clark Gables older brother, was restoring the Charger........

Dude do what you want. You know what you can and can't do. And for what you can't, I'll take you to some guys who can. The price isn't bad for an original unf*cked with car. You guys must have time machines back to the '80s. Rust free, running original 2dr anything with a good title starts at $4500.
If you're worried about mileage and it being stolen, don't get it.
I drove this every day, complete with a hopped up 70 yr old engine in it just fine for a long time and 100 other very, very impractical cars.

Right on. That's a great looking car. I've got to wonder how many people how many people said " is it for sale"

While it may be harder to find that exact car it should have a lot more done than that for 6 grand. There are a lot nicer put together car for the price. There's a couple on Craigslist that are completely restored looking for 10-12 grand. There is a good rebuild able one on evil bay for 3200 right now. Another 3 grand and it would be mostly done if you work on it yourself. Even if you paid 4 for this one I could see it since you know the history on it and can make payments. It would be a fun lil car to cruise around.

Had more than a few early hot rods and got that a lot. I would get "when you going finish it?" too...
Old people would toss a thumbs up, kids waved and girls really dug it! Got alot of dates with roadsters. :D
I'd roll into work and it more attention than the Ferraris & Bentlys on the lot.

Wow $6000 is way to much hit the next pomona car show swap meet you will find one for less and in better shape I would look for a chevelle for that price.
