serpentine setup onto a 6.2

I would say if you've got a good running 6.5, use the IP. With my SM465 in, there's a hill on the hwy by my place I would hit the bottom at 100km and by the top I'd be down to 70-80 just dragging right down. Swapped in the IP from the 6.5 and same hill I'm now accelerating up it. Granted that could just be that my IP was super worn out, but worth it if you've got the front all pulled apart already.

One question... I've got the PSC hydro assist, any idea if the high flow pump will be able to move over to the serp setup? The PS pump on the 6.5 has a bit different mounting, not sure if it'll be compatible or not.

I've swapped a 96-2000 serpentine to my 6.2L. You'll notice the 6.5 heads have an additional threaded hole to accommodate the passenger side bracket that mounts the alternator and vacuum pump. The earlier generation serpentine brackets might be similar. I found there were plenty of other mounting points for the bracket, and so I left that one blank. That was 50K miles ago.

It's been well worth the effort.

My main reason is cooling. The big clutch on the old diesel setup you can't buy anymore. Bought what was claimed to be the best one and I still run 10° to 20° hotter than I used to.

You can still get the fan clutch, the proper one, for the serpentine setup

Yep. I went from constantly slipping, slapping, loosening V-belts and cracking stamped brackets to a nice, quiet, reliable accessory drive system.

Man, you're making me want to upgrade. I am not a fan of my V-belt setup. Not at all.

DO IT!

It was one of those jobs that retrospectively I wished I'd have done much earlier. Bonuses are my engine has a new timing set, oil pump, rear main seal, and pan seal...

Excited for mine, my 6.2 is hell on belts. I will sell you my stock 6.2 clutch

No my 6.2 pissed me off tonight. This week's project. Get the serpentine setup on and get the turbo motor in.

I got 2 injecters or hoses or something rustproofing the engine bay right now

Are you swapping motors? Or just putting the turbine on the existing one?

Swapping.

My current engine appears to be the stock motor. According to records in the truck when I bought the truck.

If it is the current motor it now has over 400k miles on it.

New one is supposed to be way less
