Shackle flip and Switch from DIY4x : Tech review post 146

1 tons are narrower than others to put the rear springs inboard slightly more. Remember the narrow spring perches compared to the 1/2 and 3/4 tons? Its all in the spring hangers that determine the perch widths.

Thanks thatK30guy!!

Kert...you mentioned a prototype for a '93 Chevy...I don't suppose you have anything in the works for upwards of '98 models in the 1 ton variety? Would like to do a shackle flip when it comes time to do a SAS on my crew cab.

Unfortunately I don't have anything hear to pull a design from. That being said, the 93 and a Ford unit were built with customer measurements.

Gotcha. So other than me bringing my truck to you or if you came across one there near you it's pretty much a bust. That's what I was thinking. Thanks anyway, I appreciate the time.

I don't guess you would be interested in doing a shackle flip for a 99-up chevy? I know ord makes one but I like yours the best.

Sure would. Just don't have a truck to get the pertinent measurements off of.

Stealing jeks pichurs...

i meant to bring this up when i finished my install. but what would be the potential for adding a few socket access holes over the bolt heads? you think it would reduce strength too much?

it sucked trying to hold the bracket up, feed the bolt to the nut plate and tighten it down with a wrench at the same time.

i know if i could have gotten an air tool on there, install time would've been much better.

something i wouldnt have thought of ahead of time but that would have made life easier during install..maybe you could add the option to future orders? i know i would have used it.
