Shop build. HEAT!

So how do I hang the heater from the wall?

Trusses are on 24" centers.

Unistrut and threaded rod?

Redneck engineering involving chains that are of an unknown origin and eye bolts?

Overcomplicate it and build a frame out of angle iron and a shelf of sorts?

Gotta get it hung so I can measure for mah chimney so my giblits can stay warm

I like unistrut and i have seen that stuff hold some serious weight

second this...My side gate is built from this stuff. you could hang the heater from two rails of it no problem..and the inserts slide in the rail..so four eyebolt inserts and you heater can be adjustable along the track.

Just use the 1⅝ stuff, and try to keep your all thread as close to a truss as possible. If they land at the outer ends, mid way between trusses, use strut long enough to get to the next truss.

I have seen it buckle if cantalevered too far.

Yep it will hit the truss that is outside the threaded rods that attach. Or eye bolts and yes the 1 5/8 stuff

One of the reasons for the unistrut is I don't have a good way to lift it up higher. I thought by using unistrut I could hook up a couple ratchet straps ( 4 total 2 in each direction to lock it in)to lift it to it's final height. I think I need to be 12" from the ceiling

I hang almost all the garage heaters I install from Unistrut. Most of the heaters already have threaded inserts for 3/8" threaded rod in the top. The small ones just use 2 rods from the middle, larger units are set up with 4.

thats how i got mine 12ft up with 4 ratchet straps . took me 1 hr total .

I'd use a chain falls,or block & tackle,or a winch on a truck and a snatch block on a rafter, over ratchet straps or a come-a-long,both those things are not the greatest for lifting things a good distance, you'll have to tie the heater off halfway up and re-hook the straps or come-a-long to lift it the full distance--that can be tricky and dangerous..

You do have a long chainfall.. Put a bar across your unistrut and hook your chainfall to it. Then basket rig your heater. Yeah, I like his idea /\

Yes Keith it does.
By the way I know you want things off the floor but don't lift it too high because heat rises and you will lose so much of it in your high sealing.
Also sealing fans do a great job of bringing the heat down and evening it out around the shop
