Shorty the crewcab. (Been saved from the chopping block)

81 CC short bed conversion
Got the winch finally powered up too. So it's usable now.
Now to start on the rear mount/bumper

Next up, fixing frame flex!
man thats a long wheeler Rick!

Got a start on the rear bumper.
I'm going to add some bracing to the rear side of it, and thicken the pull points out yet. Then add some tabs on the bottom to bolt to the bottom of the frame rail too.

I wish I still had the stock rear bumper it had when I got it. So that I could cut it in like I did the front. Oh well.

Trimmed more than I needed to on the corners due to being in too much of a hurry. But the beds getting scrapped eventually so no biggie.
I have to finish welding everything. But it's getting there.

My old bumper would have had a drag point down in the corner about where the red dot here is... So that got much better.

Well, it appears the fuel pump is shot.
I posted a different thread in the garage about an odd oil leak. Where I was told to check the pump weep hole. And yes, that's where it's coming from.
I hadn't even know that weep hole existed lol.
Now, for a replacement I was going to use Carter M6624
As it looks exactly like mine, and has the same fittings in the same locations.

But it says 7.5-9 psi.... Is that too much? Would I need a regulator to bring that to 6 or so?
It's a .040" over 454 with a healthy cam and 1411 Edelbrock 750 carb.

(After reading a manual for that carb it says 6.5 psi max). So I may have answered my own question...:dunno:

Found a pump that I'm just throwing in. 2 different sites listed 2 different pressures for that pump, and I'm sick of looking.
It's all for naught because it's going FI soon anyway. I'll worry about a real pump then. Just want one that won't chit oil every where.

Maybe..... Just maybe, this is why my fuel pump lost a seal...

Smooth as hell. And could have easily done more. Surprised me really lol.

Loud as F*CK! though. Think I need more exhaust on it.

Should have put 2 in the bumper holes.

And yes, you need more better exhaust. I think it is louder then the 67 and that's questionable if it's enjoyable.

I will have to have earmuffs if I ever go for a ride again.

The loudest part was the tunnel, but that's to be expected lol.

And I have 2 of the same style light but shorter to go in the bumper holes.
They may be mounted tomorrow.:waytogo:

The rear bumper has 2 holes on each side to be drilled and a tab each side to be welded on.
Then I'll pull it off and finish weld a few things and re mount it.
That should be it back there till I take the bed off and change up that area.

I'm actually surprised it's as loud as it is.
As far as flow master goes these are supposed to be one of the quietest ones.
