Shorty the crewcab. (Been saved from the chopping block)

81 CC short bed conversion
Nope.. no stabilizer, one is in the works though.
I also have no idea if the lower kingpin/ bearing are good. I couldn't feel play when it was out, but that probably doesn't mean it isn't there.

I figured I'd drive it around some more and leave it in 2hi. See what happens.

I was only doing about 20-25 mph when it started.

The bead balance doesn't work at slow speed

I've never been a believer in the beads. I am probably the only one on this board that will tell you this. But I worked in tires for a bit so I probably have a different opinion then others. But toss some equal or other equivalent big tire stabilizer in there.

I guess I never thought of that.

I've only ever rode in one vehicle before this with the beads (they were airsoft BBs). In kellyjohn's bobbed blazer. And with 40" bias ply intercos, it impressed me. It was smooth at all speeds.

my 35"s are balanced with the exact same beads. They are a squared off radial, rather than a rounded off bias though too. :dunno:.
I'll try and find what's in them for sure quick. The same thing happened a couple times when the axles/tires were under the bee too.

Looks like I did airsoft in these. 14oz each. So it's not the same as the 35"s.
The 35"s got some sort of ceramic (I think) beads that they use in semi tires.

I got the ceramic ones in my semi and it will start off fine in the beginning when everything is perfect and after some wear it will start a shake when it hits a rut or grove or even a little rock but a few seconds later it smooths out.
That works when you have enough beads though. If not enough it doesn't work.
I also balance my tires first then add the beads, that reduced my tire wear by 25%

New drive shaft in.... Some angle issues left to deal with :doah:. but I knew that. (No pic)

Then I decided to look between the bed and cab and see if I could see a broken sending unit wire or something. Found something more important.
So the bed came off.

Yep lol. My nephew Koltyn did it while he was here last. When he's at our place he wants nothing to do with toys and videogames.... He wants to go to the shop :waytogo:

I'm hoping to get this thing road trustable soon, now that it has a decent front shaft. I have 5 boys ranging from 10 to 4 that all need to go muddin lol.
2 nephews, 2 of my cousins kids (that also call me uncle lol), and Kaz.

Built it. I did a bunch of searching and taking design features in mind, then decided to just build one the way I wanted it.
A comparable one was going to be $2k - $3k.
I have around $700 in this one.

someone used a pass side fuel sender on driver side . thats why the hose goes 180* back around .

good catch tho before it left you stranded some place .

I figured a gas leak there with the exhaust dumping just on the other side of the frame would be bad lol. I have a nearly new tank, and just picked up a new sender setup to go in it. So it'll all get changed.

I am not sure if I have room for one in my garage though.Might have to get delegated to the RV pad and just move the trailer and do certain projects out there. I have 11' ceilings in my garage. I have thought about possibly attaching a beam to the trusses running the length of my long bay that way I could at least lift and go forward and backward inline with the vehicle just without side to side.

You didn't put a beam up when you built your house? I thought you would be the type to do that...
