Shrunken Ned...

I checked all the plugs..they look great. there is no sign of water leaking into the heads that I can find.. I did some reading on the internet. I learned that using a normal rotation water pump on a serpentine system without a a thermostat will work in theory. the water does flow, but the pump cannot keep up with the water demand at any kind of rpm beyond idle. So it will idle and seem all "normal", but once the rpm's increase, the pump plays catch up till it gets so far behind the motor overheats. Which would make sense when I'm seeing the huge drop in water flow at the radiator when you hit the throttle, then when you get off the gas it all comes rushing back.

I'm guessing now but I also think the propane vaporizer is adding an additional obstacle/dynamic to the system, that's already flowing the wrong direction and is causing/contributing to some epic cavitation at the water pump. Which is making a giant air bubble in the motor. like the way it is now its trying to push water up a hill rather than pull it, if that makes sense. So anyhow..ordered the correct pump which will be here in the morning. gonna throw that in and see what happens.

So a water pump from a 1994 Chevy truck is not a reverse rotation pump?

yes it is.....the question is do I have that pump in the truck? I remember we matched the new one to the old one when we replaced it at Keiths. what if the old one wasn't reverse to start and we just bought a new version of that pump? If this doesnt change anything I'm going straight to head gaskets

new pump didn't fit...we couldnt tell from the one picture if it was a long or short..turned out it was a shorty and pulley shaft was to big for my pulley..so I returned it....good news however I did confirm that the water pump we bought at keiths is a standard rotation...when the know it all counter guy brought that same pump out and told me this was the one his buddy at the warehouse said I needed...I was like "really... is this a reverse rotation?" He's like "uhmm no"

We did....Just for giggles I pulled the back off the pump we bought..it's a standard rotation

Since I have to wait for the pump to get here I started doing some other things..that's when I noticed Ned was violated in his electical privates. Consider this a deadly weapon if Eric comes near your rig holding it.

I love stickers. You gained at least 748hp with all of those! This thing really is awesome. Nice job man. Hope you get your cooling issues taken care of so you can enjoy it!

thx me2... I been saving stickers for years to put them on something I would never get rid of. On the roof inside is every blazer bash event sticker from 2009 to today. with the exception of 2010. which I cant find and I'm willing to pay good money for if someone has one they want to part with. I also put the transmission cooler fan on a switch and picked up all the leather stuff I need to do the dash cover and door panels so they match the tunnel cover. today was my last day of vacation. Go back to work tomorrow.
