I currently have two Burbs with 465's. One 4wd with a mech clutch. Stock 350TBI, 3.73 and 33's. Runs down the road just fine and if I keep it under 60, it'll get over 15mpg. And that is GPS'ed milage, not the odo. The other Burb is a 2wd and I have a Ranger OD in front of that one. Slightly modded 350TBI, 3.73 and stock sized tires. Drives like a dream and can get almost 20mpg at 65mph, 9mpg average towing a 6k lb trailer.
As far as overworking the left leg, I float the gears in city traffic. I can float from Low all the way to 3rd and back down. Cant float with the Ranger, but that was more for towing and highway cruising. You just gotta watch traffic so you have time to shift.
I love em. Any GM truck/Burb/K5 i ever own will have one. It'll be the first mod I make if it doesnt have one already. And you guys with the NV4500, kudos to your OD, but 465's are more reliable and a helluva lot cheaper to fix, if they ever break.
