Smokey The Crew Cab---- 90 V3500 6.5 Banks equipped(Cummins Swap in progress)

I will gladly take it off your hands when you are sick of dealing with it, of course you will have to ship it to me in Utah and it would have to be free fifty free.

No lol she will just get another 6.5 in it’s place . Or possibly non intercooled 5.9/727/205 I have from my old 90 dodge .

I have a 1990 Cummins with a ZF S5-42 5 speed with a Gear Vendor in my F350. Good setup but I also like the 6.5L too. It would not be able to tow what my Cummins can though. Swap in a fuel pincher! It's like the 6.2/6.5L and 8V71 red headed step child. Not heard much good about them ever but it would be different.

I have a “K”-70 with a fuel pincher and a 13-spd it’s a good running engine just not much power lol

So I just learned about a new diesel, cool.
Probably good for equipment but not a street truck

They have a mixed reputation, they were a semi popular marine engine . And we’re used in medium duty GM trucks but that’s about it . They are pretty gutless and very heavy for the displacement.

They are also known for overheating issues . Broken Cranks, and throwing rods.

In my limited experience with them has been about 70/30 positive/negative. More then I can say for the 6.0 Ford lol

Total tangent, but on that pincher you've got in that 70; where is the tachometer pickup?

Some tachometers have a magnetic pickup that reads off the flywheel teeth or it could even be mechanical cable off the fuel pump.

That's the cluster I have and it's one of Google's unknowns. Allegedly its 2 pulses per revolution which works for the p pump 12 valve tach sensor. See where I'm going with this?

Quite a few school buses around here had the 8.2 diesels in them..
Never heard much bad stuff about them, but not much praise either, especially about being "gutless" for the size & weight of it..

Yellow K2,you only get like 2 months of non freezing temps up there I think..does it stay light out till after midnight this time of year up there?..

Lol we actually get a pretty decent spring/summer/fall. You can work outside fairly comfortably from early May into early October .

But yes we do take advantage of that 24-hours of day light !!

Edit: took this pic at around 11:45 last night .

I wish it stayed light out here that way...
This time of year is the best,it doesn't get "dark" till after 8:30 pm--but we're already losing daylight, after June 21st,every day gets a minute or more shorter...
I wish sunrise wasn't at 5 am though--would be better if it came up at 7 am,and set two hours later at night..year round!..

I know a guy who moved way up north in Canada ,near where they film the Ice Road Truckers show,he says even in July it can only get up to 45-50 degrees tops some years !..says it sucks to get parts up there, pickings are slim for new parts ,you have to wait for weeks to get delivery at times..told me there's quite a few "junkyards" up there, but most of the vehicles are entombed in permafrost most of the year..

That’s way up North , near the Arctic Ocean. But that being said , I have gone swimming in the Arctic ocean when it was well over 90 degrees.
