It's a bit far off but it really bugs me having 4" lift blocks out back of my dually. Of course the helper leaf will no longer reach the pads. Just poking around for ideas and of course I know tow abilities are decreased when lifted but bumper towing my K5 should be fine. What do you guys think?

If it's a crew cab you will probably need to shim the pinion down. But otherwise, go for it. Oem dodge from 94+ used it that way. Ford too.

I see, the blocks are angled so I'd lose that for pinion alignment but I'm thinking of using Ord's flip possibly

I have one, i'll get you some pics tomorrow, my pinion is at about 14 degrees up without a shim

YUP...the F350-450's have a dang 4" block in the back. I just took one apart.

My V3500 crew cab has a DIY4X shackle flip, and a tapered 4" lift block. I do not do any heavy towing with my truck. The picture of the shackle DIY4X shackle flip is one I took about 10-years ago when I first installed it.

This is exactly what I wanted to know. It's a cheap upgrade for getting rid of the blocks, even though I don't plan on towing anywhere close to this trucks capacity I'd like to know that is still stout bc I'm not nice to my stuff sometimes:whistle:
Side note I'm concider in either 1 or two long Trac bars but they may not be necessary

If you actually pay attention to ORD's site when they describe their shackle flip, they talk about towing with a shackle flip. Read the fine print at the bottom of this page:

http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/shacklekit.htm

In all reality, if you did a zero-lift shackle flip on a stock truck, it wouldn't lower your tow rating any bit. The actual "lifting" of the truck is what is lowering the tow rating on the truck. But as mentioned before, the flip will make the ride a bit nicer when empty (paired with a good shock on the truck), and just put some air bags on it for when you need to put some serious weight on it, and you will be fine.

I did a 2.5" shackle flip on the rear of my CCLB, with ORD's heavy duty shackle, and then did a zero-rate (just to get my height matched better with the front springs). My pinion angle looks pretty good (may have to shim down, but not much...will see once it's on the road), and I plan to put some bags on it eventually. It's the best of both worlds if you ask me (good ride quality but still be able to tow heavy)

I do not think lift blocks negatively affect towing ability (except for the over-load spring problem). Some of the newer Dodge and Ford dually trucks come stock from the factory with 2" lift blocks.

I think 2" block is ok when it's 2.5" wide.
When you go to 4" and towing, you have a lot more weight that can put sideways pressure on the block and flip it.
Personally I wouldn't do it.
And the block doesn't affect the overload unless you put the block in between the overload and the main spring.
The shackle flip however will put the overload spring too far to accomplish anything

I have the ORD flip (4") on my 1991 V3500 crew SRW. 37" BFG' s. No complaints, drive around the mountains all the time. I only tow a popup usually and it works fine. I didn't do anything for pinion angle. No vibration. The frame bracket interfered with my receiver hitch so I had to modify 2 of the 6 mounting holes on the hitch. Not all hitches have this issue.
