That's a really good idea for a street only vehicle but I can't imagine it holding up to too much abuse on the trail with all the vibrations even going down a bumpy fire road.

I beg to differ. As long as the mount doesn't suck, there are no moving internals, its all solid state flash memory. So no Harddrive to be abused. It will hold up to vibrations better than the standard style ipods will, and those don't fail from vib's often.
Looks cool..... I haven't gone for a drive with my iPad yet to see how accurate it is (without the plug in scanner part) and most of the vehicles I own are too old to have an OBD port. Still, if it can give a reasonable estimate of HP/TQ/0-60/Qtr Mile times it would still be fun to play around with....
