don't use herc. i've been sorely dissappointed with it in the body of my blazer. you can't clean it worth anything and it's not very durable - scrapes off real easy. i followed directions to the T.
I notched like so...then bent it using my hi-lift under the rear bumper. worked great.

I will be coping your bumper exactly if you to don't mind.
I don't understand how you bent it though. I would just heat it up with the rose bud while clamped to my table but would like more detail on how you did it please, Thanks.

Cut a notch, put that side up.

Now (not shown), put another piece of steel or good SOLID lumber underneath a foot, say, on the far side of the notch, leaving empty space under the notch.
Put the Hi-Lift base on one side of the notch, and ratchet away. Basically you're pushing against the truck on the top and the ground and the steel or lumber on the bottom... so it folds into the empty space.
I found that once the bend was *started* -- like, say, 10 or 15* -- I could bend it the rest of the way with the prybar (far right side of pic.) Getting it started manually, however, was out of the question.
Make sense?

It adds 50hp!I forgot to mention how great that bumper looks.
By the way.. you should paint that hood flat black.. or maybe a carbon fiber texture.. you know, all the ricers do that since it's JDM, yoIt adds 50hp!

that is a nice bumper...i want to see the one dremu built w/2x8 tubing...i want to make 1 that will hold air.
how about a thread link dremu...we need a bumper build thread thats sticky, w/everyones bumper builds in it, not just the ''looking for bumper, etc, etc'' sticky.

I ran that smittybult winch for the first time last night, no cable on it. The spool on the motor side heated up to the point I could lay my hand on it- and rather quickly. Ive never had a warn do that to my recollection, im calling the manufacturer today to see what they say.
Thats defiently not normal. I am running a 10,000 pound smittybuilt and have stalled it, maxed it out, doubled with a snatch block, basically beat the hell out it. It has never got hot enough that you couldnt touch it let alone think it was a problem
i like it!
I gotta get some sort of prtection around it. IM thinking about adding a pushbar, like the ARB style bumpers.
Looks good. Simple, but good.
