I've got all the paperwork from the impound situation with me that pretty much explains it, plus my new registration I got yesterday. Most likely, I'll just store it for a month until I hear something from the driver.

I know you are probably sick of second hand advise by now, but here is mine; Look it over carfuly for drugs before you drive it anywhere else. You never know what the last guy was up to when it got towed.

Yea I agree with bigj on this one. That would suck to get arrested for drugs that arent yours.

oh i member when posted bout getting that rig. thats gatta be kinda cool though, to get rid of a truck and then wind up with it again after like 5 owners..of course ur probobly used to it! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

I'm pretty sure the cops would have checked it out and grabbed anything like that, wouldn't they? (before letting it get impounded). I didnt see anything in the truck, except a hat, a CD changer, sunglasses, scratch tickets and bolt cutters. Its all in a box ready to be picked up. I didn't run across any drugs anywhere yet.

not to get too off topic but that stuff certainly happens. when i got my old PowerWagon i found a bong in the air vent box on the passenger side!

wasn't blowing really well so i assumed it had leaves in it. open the little door and lo and behold theres a friggin bong in there. i can imagine if i had to explain that one to a cop... /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Well, finally made 1st contact with someone who knows something. We met at the Wal-Mart parking lot at 7:30 pm. There was owner #1 (me), owner #2, owner #3, owner #4 and we were waiting for owner #5 who still owes owner #4 money on the truck and was going to pay me the $352 towing bill.

Of course, the guy with the money was a no show... he supposedly fell asleep while we were all waiting in the cold of the parking lot. But at least we all know whats going on and are re-scheduling to do the deal tomorrow.

Don't forget to add on any other out of pocket expenses you've incurred before handing the truck over. Gas you burned up, plus $20 a day for however many days you've had to store the truck...

There is no way the guy should get it back for just $352...don't forget he also inconvenienced you by not showing up at the orginal meeting of owners.

Well, its finally done with. Owners #4 and #5 showed up at my house an hour ago. I got $360 in cash and a $100 chrome headache rack (which I'm giving to my friend for some money I owe him).

So, I basically got $460 back. I paid $352 for the towing, $18 to Dept. of Licensing, provided and installed a rear driveline, added 3 quarts of oil, and just before they took off, replaced a burnt out headlight (which was the original reason he was pulled over).

I also gave him a bill of sale saying I release interest and liabilities, and as soon as the title comes in, they get that and I'm going in 1st thing to turn in a report of sale.

So today I open the glove box in my Suburban looking for something to write with... and there is the sellers report of sale for the truck, all filled out from last June, just never turned in. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
