So who actually uses their trucks anymore?

Mine's a DD, unless its warm out, then I ride the bike! Truck hauls, and hunts with me. Takes the wife to work on snowy days. No towing yet. But soon.

Its nice and practical right now, with 4 inches of lift and 35's. Can't decide if I want to go all out with and make it an off-road monster or not... it would lose a lot of practicality then. I don't want a trailer queen either.

I DD my blazer. I cant say the same for my CC thats why im selling it. The blazer gets pretty good Mileage and holds usually what I need and I can park it anywhere.

once mine moves I'll be driving it as much as possible, by buddy drives his 71' chevy on 36s everyday...

My 79 c20 pickup has been a daily driver for 11 years (for as long as I have been driving). It now has an aluminum ladder rack and tool boxes on it for my daily work. It also hauls my 2001 fleetwood 21' toy hauler and 2001 yamaha wr426f dirt bike when needed. My 88 k5 is my weekend vehicle. I drive it to go snowboarding, target shooting, mild off roading, and any other place when I don't need the c20. I would post pics but I have to figure out how to resize them for the net. right now my jpgs are about 5 megs each and shot at 10.2 megapixels, and I am too lazy to load photoshop back on my computer. I guess ill go look up the directions in the forums.

Keep the old chevys and gms out on the road.

I daily drive either my Suburban or my K30 every day, because my Camaro will NEVER be put back together, so they are all that I have. I use my Suburban for designated driving duties almost every weekend. I occasionally use it to pull my room mates IMCA Modified (we use to use it every time until he bought himself a K1500). My K30 gets borrowed a lot to haul stuff by friends (which seems impractical with 8" 0f lift and 36's).

I technically can't use my 83 anymore , the carb , 700r4 , np208 , and other items are on my truggy right now :doah:

I have a 350TBI , a passenger drop np241 , and a 4l60e to go into my truggy this summer .

I should be able to put the stuff back into my 83 soon after and then just need body/interior so I can use it again :D

I do use the truggy for jockeying my camper around to park it ( its smallest wheelbase for turning ) . And I use the Suburban just like a truck .

And I have been known to use the truggies winch to pull my vehicles out occasionally to get the weeds under them LOL

'89 suburban used for remodeling, rescuing bits and pieces from my favorite secondhand auto salvage store, getting me to work, picking up trail trash, hauling trailer for firewood, dump runs, rescueing other people's broke stuff and occasionally the wife's ford escort, and one of these days i'll convince the wife it's a sweet make out wagon!:D

diggin' the burbs that have posted!

I use my 1990 as my DD. Haul drums,Dogs, chain saws and climbing gear. Also my daily non driver. I'm thinking of dropping a 5.0 and ford 5 speed T5 tranny and rear end in the 67 Volvo

I bought 3 other trucks after I put a 700r4 in my Chevy, I will never tow or haul w/ my Chevy truck again unless I go sm465. My 80 toyota does the nasty hauling, and my tundra does the dd/work hauling both trucks get 18mpg and my chevy gets closer to 7-8, maybe 9 downhill.

I have a Common rail cummins for my primary Towrig but my Daily drivers are all solid axle GM's

My '88 Suburban gets driven everyday by my wife, it's the do-all/family rig. Within the last year, we've taken it on trips to Minnesota, North Carolina, Florida, and just yesterday, I drove it to eastern PA and back. I had been driving my black '77 Blazer on a regular basis too, until it wiped a cam lobe a week or two ago.

Does this count?

I used to tow a boat and haul everything when the trail rig was mild and could acually haul stuff. Now the tow rig is my main truck, I use it for DD, hauling to the dump and tow anything.

Ohh wait, the second pic shows that I still haul stuff. :D

Sweet volvo, I had a 940 Turbo with a 15G (850) it had a limited slip solid rear, was alot of fun but I blew the over drive and had no top end :( Was considering the T5 swap with the turbo motor but ended up selling the car.. I'd go for the swap def :D

Not just drive it occasionally, but like use it to haul stuff, tow stuff, daily drive, etc etc?

We've got a lot of super capable trail rigs, truggies, and buggies on here but I want to see some pictures and hear some stories about the old beasts still earning their keep.

Just hauled two bed loads of pine branches out to the woods. Got a one or two more to do tomorrow. Gotta love it. There's still several feet of snow in places out in the woods. Big Ugly just chews through it with the locker and 38's.:D
Should have my military to civilian trailer wiring adapter next week too. I'll finally be able to tow with it!
What kind of tires are you running and what is the width of the rims and the tires? Is there a lift on your truck? I really like the way it sits. I've got an 82 K30 and I'm trying to figure out what size tires I want to run. I don't have a lift on mine. Thanks in advance.

I DD my truck. I love it except the body mounts have begun to sqeak again... I do haul trash to the dump on occasion as well as move in and out of my dorm ever semester. Plus I offroad it about once everyother week. Also it kicks ass in the snow:

My 80 has been the DD for 7 of the last 12 months. It has also reliably hauled the little tent trailer we are getting rid of, and it has been prepped for hauling the much larger trailer we are planning on buying next month. It is also going to be making a trip to AZ pretty soon to haul a rust free tub back for body restoration.

It made the trip to Oregon and back last year, hauling the trailer, and averaged out to 13 MPG. Never had a more reliable vehicle, and I am working nearly everyday to make it even more reliable and last the rest of my life.

I will post some pictures once we find the new trailer and get it hooked up the first time.

The Sub is my DD. It makes several trips to work a day(when I am home and have to actually drive to work). I used it for my last move(SE Alabama to Central TX) stuffed with what we didn't want in the small trailer behind my wife's Xterra. While on leave I picked up several pallets to chop up for the backyard chiminea(fire pit thingy). It goes to Lowes and Home Depot also. I am not against using my vehicles, which is why i don't get the news ones, though.

i don't know how to embed, so here is a link to a vid of the Sub.

I used the Crewcab to haul railroad ties(stacked up over the cab), engines, it was the daily driver for about 2 years, pallets, couches, large appliances, jet ski trailer, wheeled it about twice a month in the desert and who knows what else I used it for.

I am waiting for my wife to let the Xterra be a part time wheeler. We actually took it out when it was 2 days old and put it throught mud and some off camber stuff. We picked it up with 403 miles on it and only had 452 when we wheeled it.
