Somebody here is tracking Chalets...not sure if this one is accounted for?

Thanks for keeping an eye out. I've run across, or had been alerted to, the entire "Chevrolet Promotional Film" copy by Perispope Films video around four years back, but I completely how I found it or who alerted me to it. Might have been somebody right here at CK5, but I can't find a link. The reminder of this film today is good because I needed to find the whole Youtube video link version so that I could put that link into my info reference notes in case anybody else asks about it. I must've spaced out doing that four years ago.

The first 4¾ minutes of the film are the standard '77 Blazer, and the Chalet part starts after that. The unique thing about this '77 rig is that it is a pastel/orange color combo, and I know of only two with that combo, one is the odd combo of a '77 truck with a '76 model year leftover camper unit that's being restored by my pal over at the 67-72Chev forum. In this video, the camper unit has '77 model year stripes, but has the '76 model year straight grain fakewood cabinet panels, '76 model year pull-down window shades and '76 model year interior lights with cone-shape lampshades. All '77s had a walnut burlwood-style grain on the panels, the pull-downs were straight across the bottom with no burnt orange color fringe, and the lampshades were just cylindrical in shape.

Hat tip to you for that one! Looks familiar with the way the stripes are faded, but still most of the diagonal parts are still not peeled away on the back. PM'd the seller for a pic of the serial number plate. Notice, too that in one pic, the view through the side window shows open sky where the roof should be. Not a good sign. But one of the guys I know restoring one commissioned a machine shop to make new roller slides for the scissors lifts, which a lot of other guys with de-roofed rigs can probably use to get the popup feature working again.

Meanwhile, for those following along, it looks like the orphaned camper unit #0312 on a newer Blazer last seen here in @ashman's Dec 4 '24 post is now for sale in SLC

And the guy selling Chalet #1178 (originally seen in @Wes Harden's Sep 26, 2023 post before a repaint of the replacement sheetmetal) is still in the hands of a subsequent owner who also has another Chalet (which he'll let me know which one it is) that he wants to sell.

Two updates on the pair of items above - the orphaned Wylie TX camper unit turned out to be #1196 which I figured for myself while I was clicking on my map links of complete rigs / orphaned units for sale. I knew I'd seen that one somewhere before, I had it on my map previously in Nashville as a 2019 map point because I'd never heard it was sold. The Wylie TX listing shows it as sold now, so I took it off the map.

The guy selling two '77 bronze/tan Chalets now has them in a FB Marketplace ad, the lifted one is #1198, and the more original (and more rusty) one is #0984, which I also did not know was sold out of its just-prior owner nearby in Indiana:

Just seen on FB
Many thanks! It's a '76 model year unit from the straight grain fakewood cabinet panels, but with that repaint, I wouldn't be able to recognize it from any prior photos I might have of the original rig - sent a PM to the seller through FB asking if he could add a photo of the serial number plate and if he could share any prior owner details. Might be a new one to add to my ever-growing list of these.

.. not sure if this one has been posted ..
Thanks!! Yes, that's "the orphaned camper unit #0312" which I had in my March 13 post a few spots above. But I had it via its FB Commerce listing, and yours is the FB Marketplace link, which is good to have. I added that link to its entry at my Google 'map of rigs/orphaned camper units for sale.'

I actually ran across one in the wild!!! The kid and I were coming back from getting tacos when we saw it. Had to double back and take some pics. I’m guessIng it’s an orphan camper on a different Blazer from original. We got pics. Including the tag out back.

Interested to see if it’s been on your radar or not!

Excellent, wish I could win the lottery and reward everyone who spots these whether I know of them or not! But I'm still poor so I can only reward with a big Thanks!!

Yep, I know of this one, but only recently after many years of its absence. First pic below is of the longtime owner who used it to haul his Mazda race car, and then he popped just months ago asking on the South American "Chalet" Facebook page (the Venezuelan admin there finally got around to restoring the one he has) if anybody had seen his old rig anywhere - not realizing he was posting on an out-of-country FB Group page. By sheer coincidence, I spotted another guy's FB video post that he was restoring rig looking almost identical, so I asked the guy looking for his old rig if he spotted details he recognized. Yep, turns out to be the same one. I contacted the current owner about this and he linked to his video in his reply at the above FB page to the long-time former owner. I'm moderately sure the Blazer is the original factory one, but it would be confirmed if I could get the VIN from the current owner to see if it shows the Flint Michigan plant in the code, plus also if any remnants of the original factory paint color combo can be seen in the door jambs or elsewhere.

Handy to see the #1095 serial number plate up close and clear, because I've only had just a fuzzy one taken an angle by the 2021 short term owner/seller when he had it backed up too close to a wall.
