Somebody here is tracking Chalets...not sure if this one is accounted for?

Thanks!! This one is a great example of why I appreciate having extra eyes out there, I first got a screengrab of the listing to make a paper printout to save, then I PM'd the seller to ask about the camper unit serial number and any prior owner history. He said it is #0300, prior owner being some person in Hermiston Oregon -- which turns out to be the last I saw of this one in a 2010 Hermiston Craigslist ad, sitting on a different '90s Blazer. He said he had a buyer already, so if I had responded later today, it's possible there might not have been a way to directly do that if he'd taken down his ad. Good timing really helps to catch all available info about these.

@obijuank5 , thanks for that alert - it's a private group I have no access to. Any chance I could trouble you for a screengrab of whatever post on it at the "Squarebody Crew cabs" group? It's a GMC Casa Grande, but not one that I recognize at all, so it would be ideal for adding to my mega-spreadsheet with details about the owner/seller, etc.

Sorry about that. Updated with the marketplace link that’s not tied to a group.

Mucho thanks for the updates, one of my other pals fwd'd the camper serial number plate photo he got from the seller, it is Casa Grande #0715 built in 8/76, and from the above FB links which lead to the FB Commerce listing, I was able to contact the seller directly, and he shared the VIN tag photo he had. If General Motors and/or the Chinook company ever created a list cross-referencing the VINs with the camper SNs, I haven't found it yet, so that's why I try to snag the VINs for my own cross-referencing.

So is this one a net new add to you spreadsheet?! Feels like its been a while since a new one was added

.. is this one a net new add to you spreadsheet?! ...
Yes, indeed, between #s 0714 & 0719. Wish I had the cash + time to upgrade the ancient blazerchalet.com website, I only pay its annual renewal fees to keep it online, and the money for that is donated by one of the original co-founders, our CK5 man azblazer . I can see how there might be a particular page of new ones added to the spreadsheet, I regularly find and/or am alerted to (just like this situation) an average of 40 or so per year. While the list is now approaching 700 out of the alleged "1,780 built", there must be multiple overlaps where I have separate entries of somebody simply saying they spotted one (happens a lot in Facebook comments) and then somebody else snagging a pic of one that turns out to be the same rig. Same applies to text-only ads I've found over the years / random internet pics where guys say "I used to own this one." Who knows how many are out neglected in the woods just like this one? Seller is a nice guy who provided me with more pics. Said the owner basically parked it 40 years back. Ashes to Ashes, rust to rust . . . . .

#715 and GMC jimmy . . .
Thanks for this alert!! At first I thought this was yet another flipsale, so for curiosity I contacted the seller in the FB Commerce listing for the "Casa Grande in the woods" above, and he said this is not a flipsale, he was helping the guy to sell that has the listing right above. Added that he was tired of all the folks telling him about what the realistic price was, so he got the parts he needed and crushed all the rest.

Huge thanks! No available time for me to join FB groups to find these, so I'd miss spotting 'em if I didn't have all the extra eyes out there. PM'd the seller through his FB Commerce listing to find out the camper serial number. https://www.facebook.com/commerce/listing/1133944708293651

** Next day edit: seller responded overnight to say who he'd bought the rig from, and from that name clue along found within my mega-spreadsheet, I figured out this rig is Chalet #0390, built in 7/76.

Can send screenshots of the other pics as well.
Although I've never signed up to Instagram, I managed to get ad the link https://www.instagram.com/p/DRTCRSzktjB/ to work for getting screengrabs of the other images for my files. More often than not, if I scroll down into a particular account, I can look at a few images and maybe click on one link before Instagram goes into the default screen saying I need to sign up to see more.

No obligation, but could I trouble you to ask the seller to post or share one more photo of the serial number plate by the back door? I think I know which one this rig is from a guy who alerted me to a repainted one like this, but he only shared a photo of the painted-over serial number plate, while I was able to spot the rig from the long-distance Google satellite view at the location he said it was at ... but the satellite view was a steep angle of course, all pixelly, but it looked similar from being all one muddy color. I have those two photos on my other older computer which I can turn on tomorrow.

Absolutely no problem. They limited commenting on the Instragram post, but I sent a private message to the seller asking if he could send a photo. If he responds with it I'll add it here!

Many thanks. Opened my other computer which has my mega-spreadsheet on it (an obsolete program version which I've never gotten around to transferring into a new version on my main computer) to search for my notes on "aerial view" / "SN plate only" -- the reference I have was to a '77 #1522, and it the blurry overhead view of it last seen in a parking lot in San Diego in 2012 does sorta resemble that mauve color in the Instagram ad along with the 'graphics' treatment on the camper sides. If the seller confirms that, it means I'd be indebted to you for alerting me to ground-level views of it!
