Somebody here is tracking Chalets...not sure if this one is accounted for?

1005... he wants $12k!!!
Many thanks for the alert 'update' which I would have missed since I don't belong to any Facebook groups. Well, a guy can dream, I guess, but good luck on selling it without a title. Can that actually be done? Meanwhile, I did correspond directly with this seller via his FB account a month or so back and tried to subtly suggest that "barnfinds" tend not to sell for much beyond $3 or $4 grand. Who knows, the guy may get lucky and find some person with lots of money and no patience to look for less expensive / better condition ones. Risky business, and this "Chalet speculation bubble" is likely to pop sooner than later.

And for those who may have missed it, the seller of Chalet #1460 couldn't sell his last year for $10 grand, so he hiked the price by $1 grand days ago. (straps holding down the roof are not a good sign): https://cars.ksl.com/listing/7565687

I think its not that bad of a price, the truck is done just needs to make inside of the camper the way u want it

That is a private group so nothing is visible unless you join.
Thanks to both of you guys, and for the subsequent grabs of the photos out of the private group. I don't have the first clue how Facebook sales ads work both within and outside of public/private groups, but I was also alerted to this one via another one of my eagle-eye Chalet/Casa Grande spotter pals, and what he had first led to a FB Commerce ad link https://www.facebook.com/commerce/listing/488538999356536 but somehow when I clicked on the additional photos expansion link, it switched to a regular FB Marketplace link that has the same numbers string in the address: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/488538999356536/

This one is Chalet #0165 built in 6/76, it's apparently already sold, but the wife of the seller tells me the sale price is closer to what I advised her husband back when I saw his prior Marketplace ad last October. That likely means someone who knows approximately what a basic barnfind is in value offered that amount, and the seller wisely accepted knowing that his prior and latest asking prices were really optimistic. Funny history to this is how the first asking price I saw was $250 as it stood in June 2018, dragged straight out of a field (screengrabbed by another alert spotter via his smartphone!), then a month later all the crud was polished off it, it got new tires and was running, and the flipper was asking $7300 for it on Instagram.

Here you go. Ebay chalet2.JPGchalet 1.JPG

Absolutely unbelievable. But thought you might want to see it.

Hopefully you all can see this ad. I don't have Facebook anymore but periodically check their marketplace listings.
Thanks for that! I knew the seller had said at Miles Blackard's FB page that he was thinking of selling his #0566, but I hadn't seen yet that he'd followed through on that. Your alert allows me to get a paper printout before it disappears, which such ads sometimes do in less than a day.
Here you go. Ebay ...
That's Chalet #1221 in one of the 7 classifieds ads on ebay that the consignment seller is trying out. It's the same seller that successfully got Chalet #0429 auctioned last spring at "Bring a Trailer" for $125 grand, but I still say the last two remaining bidders in that auction were anomaly super-rich guys. This #1221 only topped out at $45 grand in its reserve-price BaT auction, and when they tried two ebay bid auctions, they pulled the first one 6 hours early when the bidding was not a whole lot past $23 grand+, while they let the 2nd bid reserve-price auction play out. Now it's back relisted at ebay in the nearly $75 grand classified ad, which they will never get. Since the #0058 Chalet only netted $30 grand in its no-reserve Barrett-Jackson auction, we might be done with Chalets getting much more than that for a while.

Unbelievable to me, but I guess some folks have more money than they know what to do with. I can see 35, but 125? For that much, you'd be scared to drive it around!
