Somebody here is tracking Chalets...not sure if this one is accounted for?

Well, this one is back up for sale.
Much thanks, screengrab captured of the whole listing for my permanent paper printout file. Seller here is using all the same photos from last year. Always makes me wonder if these situations are the same owner who's asked somebody else to list something on their behalf, or if the new owner had saved all the photos from the listing where the purchase was made, but is otherwise too lazy to go out and shoot all new photos ......

Comments are good on this one . . . Guy said extend frame :rotfl:

Wel they do have a frame extension in the back to get the bumper at the end of the camper.

Nuts, a hiccup in the CK5 system didn't email an alert to me about your post back on Monday, and the FB ad is gone as of today. Thanks for snagging the SN plate photo - did you happen to save any other photos from that ad or its ad text? I've located the seller's FB account and can try sending him a Message, but usually sellers don't answer my FB PMs ...

Also didn't get an alert from CK5 about this post back on Sept 26th, and I can't readily see what the dates posted are for these utterly oddball jerky little shorts. But the views looked really familiar and I recognized it right off the bat as Chalet #0058, and at first thought this was this FB Reels guy's visit to the dealer showroom several years back after the dealer had won it from the Barrett-Jackson January 2022 Scottsdale AZ auction for $30 grand. But no, it's dumber than that. What this FB Reels person did was cut snippets out of the Mankato Minnesota dealer's full Youtube video of it, which still works at the dealer's February 2022 website page for this rig. Chalet #0058 had actually been partly restored years earlier, the stripes are non-original where the red parts of the stripes are too red and too thin, compared to the factory original ones. It is being properly restored by the current owner, who traded a couple of his own classic cars to the Mankato dealer.

No other pictures unfortunately. It did look restored or well kept.

Nuts, I checked my CK5 notifications and they seem to be set up to send me an email of when someone posts in this thread, but I'm still not getting them and only see these new ones in my end-of-the-week CK5 roundup,

Yep, I forget who it was back in August elsewhere who alerted me to this utterly neglected taken-apart Chalet #1682, but it's good to know of its return status in the FB Marketplace ad, I need to update my map link for it. I've been in contact with the seller a few times, he did ask me if he was initially asking too much for it, and I did try to break it gently to him that he's got little more than a parts pile and a basic Chalet shell that's not worth much, especially since it was deroofed at some point long ago. It's not seen in his ad photos, but he sent me a couple of when he first found it, and the roof is not attached at all

.......Nice to see the seller of this #0206 got my FB Message back in Feb 2025 for its first Marketplace listing, such that now all of the inaccurate claims about 'all original' are gone along with the seller's errant guess on what its serial number was. .......

.........The joke I had with my pal about this one last night is that surely the market among gullible flipsalers for these will totally dry up some day, ending the line of guys actually making big flipsale dollars off the next guy who wants to make double the flipsale dollars.
Replying to my own self here, but as a means to provide an update to the 'Chalet #0206" situation. On one of the rare times when my Google email alert setup for any new results of these worked, it worked this morning to alert me to these guys' hours-old Youtube video of the 'repair' work they are doing to it. There's other vehicles in the video, so viewers need to skip over those to see what's going on with this rig. Yep, as I suspected, floor and sills rot requiring new sheetmetal. And as sometimes happens, guys working on these do next to zero internet research on these to figure out enough details on what they have. I left a reply in their comment section if they want more info on this one.

Two troublesome things they say in the video, first that it will be 'back on the market,' but I don't know if they've been the sellers since the above re-listing in August or if they bought it from that seller. Second - and far worse - the narrator guy says the scissors lift for the pop up roof was long gone and they just simply glued the roof down permanently. That, as I said in the comment I left, is a gi-normous resale value killing mistake (If they delete my comment, I did save what I wrote, though).

My scissor lift on the orphaned chalet i still have is shot and I am looking at some options in the newer lift struts for lift gates.
The pop top is one of the assets of the design I wouldn't want to lose it

That's another route to take for achieving the added interior height, and might even be better than what Chinook originally designed. The thing here is what these rebuilders in that video want to accomplish - a camper rig entirely suited for its camping purpose, where a buyer doesn't care about ultimate 'collector top end value' and intends to mod the rig further to suit his tastes? Or are they aiming to flipsale it as a 'restored to better than new' for double what they paid for it? If it is the latter goal, they're already underwater on their purchase / parts / labor investment if they really did pay over $27 grand for it.
