Now you guys got me thinking I should bring out the beast. I'd probably have to find a trailer for it. 3 hours on 40 inch boggers would start to drive me nuts.

Spring trip to Rausch Creek Offroad Park***June 9th & 10th 2012***

I hear you, I drive my blazer every day to and from work, and I've started looking at everything I want to do before this trip to get ready... Man, I better get busy!
Here is my list:
1. Get my new Goodyear MTR's installed(Done this past week)
2. Regear and install my new rear axle with zero rates
3. Fix leaking transfer case seal
4. Clean up surface rust near kick panel and Herculine interior
5. Clean up under truck and Herculine to hopefully help protect body, but also hopefully quiet this thing down. Between the mud terrains and the aftermarket exhaust and new cat, this thing is too loud, I'm not running an interior...
6. Mount 2 fire extinguishers!
7. Roll bar and better seatbelts(I have a soft top, and after seeing chalets rollover last year, I want my family protected!!!
8. Get a quality tow strap(required by Rausch Creek)
9. Work some overtime to pay for all this $$$$
10. Finally paint this thing JD Blitz Black(probably won't happen)
11. Mount my locking tool box so I don't scatter everything should we roll(not planning on it, but it's always a possibility)
12. Work some overtime....

I am completely clueless when it comes to tow straps... Besides knowing the one I have is 25 years old and fraying!

ill need one of these for the trip as well.when i get my tax refund,some venders here are getting the call for parts and accessories.
is everyone trying to leave early on friday and wheel saturday and sunday or?we got a lot of time to figure it out.just trying to get a concensus.

My plan as of now is to take off work Friday, pack up my gear and head down to RC to try and get a nice camping spot hopefully. We may need some advice on this one

I plan on wheeling both Saturday and Sunday, leaving late Sunday afternoon to pick up my girls from my inlaws house. Speaking of kids, anybody bringing yours? I was planning on bringing my almost 9yr old son along. I'd love for him to get into offloading, atv's, etc...

I heard the same thing too. I know they also don't take reservations so its first come first serve. It looks like we might have a good sized group too so I think that as many off us that could make it can kinda square off an area for everyone.
I should be able to take off Friday and head up, my brother will most likely be following me as well.
As far as kids, I'm planning on bringing my son, actually HE told me he's coming (as long as he can bring his rc crawler though ) he will be almost 6 by then.

so it looks like most of us are heading up friday.im thinkin camp friday now and wheel saturday.the wife wants to hit the casino on one of the nights so its worthwhile for her to go.besides the wheeling haha.im hoping to win big and wheel a lil sunday if i got the extra coin.not bringin my kids on this one.not enough room for all 4 and dont wana leave anyone out.if i took one or two the others would be pissed.that and theres not enough seats and belts to keep them all safe.last time i was there they were just setting up the truck off road area so i dont know how bad the camping spots are and how fast they fill up.the atv trails were pretty good so im guessing the truck trails are good as well.

Camping/sleeping should not be a issue. There is a good amount of camping room and the wild stuff shouldn't be much of a issue anymore. If you want to take a shower you can go south 1 exit to the little truck stop to get a shower. I am going to try and make it but it will be a last minute decision.
The parking lot is pretty big, but there aren't many spots with grass/no rocks to setup tents. What my friends and I do is to setup up out tents on our trailers (good reason for a full deck trailer 
) As for being kind wild parting, there is some drinking the parking lot at night but its pretty calm all the times I've been there.
One note though, the road up to Rausch is a nice long low speed (about 30 mph average) climb that changing is steepness. So make sure your tow rigs cooling system is up to par cause it can and will put a hurtin on it.

Definitely would like to make this trip. May be in a Jeep as well but towing with the 'Burb at least.
