Squarebody CHOP Shop

Been there. Ours was pushed 3 times. I ended up driving the semi, with the Jimmy on it and the boat behind it, on 2 lane narrow Tennessee roads to get it done on time.

We should here back by tomorrow morning. Either way, we just need the paperwork filed before the courthouse closes Wednesday in order to get the keys and move this weekend.

Cleared to close and just waiting on documents to be sent over to the two title companies. It will likely be a last minute scramble in the morning but we should be able to get everything wrapped up before the holiday so we can move over the long holiday weekend.

I also managed to finish up the stain on the cabinets. Bottom side is back together, top doors need another day to dry before reassembly.

Start off the day (one motorcycle already moved yesterday)

I didn't get a pic of the new shop yet, but it's far from cluttered but very disorganized so far.

We have everything moved except what I had stored outside and my office. I'm now neck deep into remodeling the lower level. This week has been a blur so i may mix up what was done on which day...

Monday, my contractor friend and a helper came out and started ripping out the kitchen flooring 6 layers and relocated the end cabinet to fit the dishwasher. Another friend of mine and a gall my wife hired, came out to paint the livingroom. I ended the day painting around the cabinets in the kitchen.

Tuesday, my contractor friend and helper continued in the kitchen, finished typing it old flooring and set up the cabinets. My other friend fixed the deck for me. Apparently I didn't take pictures.

Wednesday, one friend painted the downstairs bedroom and helped my contractor friend finish up the kitchen countertop. Then repaired siding on the front of the house. I also dug up the septic tank covers to get that serviced and inspected.

Finished the flooring Sunday, finished the trim Monday. Got as far as cutting and routing the backsplash pieces. The window sill interferes with the long backsplash so I need to trim one or the other to make them fit.

Congrats on the new place!

Are those latest flooring pics of the house you're turning into a rental? I think it's funny how much work seems to happen to a house that is being moved out of. When we were getting our old house ready to sell, the wife and I kept saying "Why didn't we do all this when we were going to keep living here?"

That's exactly what I was going to say

I am trying to slowly do that to mine and enjoy it instead of someone else

Remodeling before you move in is one thing, trying to get it done while living in it is another. We started the work over a year ago. The first half took 6 plus months. The second half a couple of weeks. The only difference was we moved our stuff out.

And I'm getting our newer washer and drier installed. This is a tight squeeze and definitely one area needing improvement in the future.
