Well I had no choice but to remove the top from my K5 this week and get started on bed lining prep of interior and replacing seals to removalable top that gave way.

I have used multiple wire wheels and sander (80 grit) trying to get the surface rust well and feathering the paint edges on everything so it does not come back to haunt me later.

I have on hand phosphate metal prep, denatured alcohol to help with prep but have not used yet. So you guys give me anymore tips as I feel I am maybe to anal or just not busting enough tail is why prep is taking along time, besides having to wire wheel of POR-15 so Ryoken wouldn't find out I had it on the truck.

Here are some pics. Feel free to give advice etc as I have never done a spray in bed liner and seek input.

What liner are you going with? Spray or roll on?

looks good... damp towel/dry towel the bare spots with denatured, spot prime them... once dry, run a scuff pad, or light grit sandpaper over the primer.. same damp dry for the whole thing.... squirt...

some people like xylene to clean for liner... denatured does the samer thing and isn't as nasty on your skin....

if you've got holes to protect, the squishy ear plugs work great for them....

The squishy ear plugs... Pull them out immediately after spraying?

When do I use the phosphate metal prep at which point in process? Thanks guy!

yup.... it's always best to pull any masking as quick as feasible usually...

you really don't need that if your gonna prime... if you really want, you could treat the bare spots before primer.. that's what it's for, a conditioner for bare metal.. but it really isn't needed if it's clean with a good cut on it.. just denature it and prime...

Got the raptor liner etc but have to finish prepping tail gate and prime and prime front floor up under pedal area on both sides. Then wipe down good, scuff with red scotch brite, wipe down again tape off super good and spray HOPEFULLY Sunday. Prep is key and has taken alot of time but again key!!!
Trying to figure out where to tape off tailgate and back where tailgate shuts. Still seeking pics with no luck!

I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product as well, good luck and post tons of pics

For all that asked here are some pictures of my sprayed Raptor liner interior. Rear has 2 coats and front has only 1 coat. Need to find time etc to shoot last coat on front.

Still need to do my tailgate which seems is going to be a pain I think and might do edges with one coat where the tailgate closes just for a clean look!

If your curious how easy it is to spray, this was my time spraying from a gun pretty much.

I see the kit comes with 4 bottles, way easier to handle than a gun with a big hopper (Liner Xtreeme, etc). How many bottles have you used so far?

Very nice!

After its mixed how long can you store it before you spray? Or should I say that if you have leftover material can you save it for a few days?

I used four bottles but bought 2 kits. 2nd kit is to do under cab of wife's 67 C10, so I can use 1/2 of a bottle from her kit to finish front section.

Prep must be key and thank you guy's for the kind words!!!! I spent honestly 10 hrs of prep on it but as others said prep is key!

Once you mix harder in it I would recommend spraying it then. Upol has a data sheet with alot of info on there website and I talked to a Upol rep from my state before spraying with questions I had on it. Also sprayed around 50-55 psi. I recommend having big test piece of metal to test spray before you spray truck and KEY is to retest spray when change bottle to get it flowing right out of gun. So each time I changed to new bottle I did a test spray on my big scrap metal piece before going to truck.

I would like to thank all GUY'S that gave advice and big props to Ryoken as I blow up his mail box with ?'s all time
