I am pretty sure that i do not need this piece anymore with my new ORD shackle hangers, but i thought i would run it by you guys anyway. So...i can go ahead and remove this right?
You asked about removing this and if you haven't tossed them, I'd put them back as shown on the bottom photo. Prevents sway and adds piece of mind...

Hmm, did you have to modify anything to keep the small bracket on the bottom?
I already looked and it will not line up unless i drill differant holes.
got the bushings in from ORD and finished the front springs and threw the axle back on.

well, got the rear shackle and spring bushings from ORD today and while isntalling i found out they sent me 1 1/2" spring bushing instead of the 1 3/8" bushings i need. The 1 1/2" are the right size for the shackles so those are in, but just as stated on thier own website the 1 3/8" are whats used in most all 1/2 ton trucks of our year and for some reason they sent me the wrong size. Oh well, i just have to wait until monday now to call and get the right ones and then anouther week until they arrive. So...well damn, i cant really do anything. Once i get the rust bullet i can coat the frame and put the engine, tranny and gas tank back on. I was hoping t have the suspension worked out but damnit if i havent had wrong part problems every step of the way.
I also decided to give up on the deadline thing about a week ago and that has made the build a pleasure to work on. I can go wrench for a couple minutes to a few hours and no-stress fun doing it. Also dont feel rushed and it will help me not skip steps or rush things.
Also plan on doing the 1-ton swap with the rear disks now. Probably means i wont be driving until late this summer if at all, but it will be worth it. Especialy now that i am having way more fun.

I think SuperDave needs to eventually fix his rear shackle hanger warmers (ie. exhaust).
It IS nice not to be forced to work on the truck...just be careful not to let things get TOO laid back or it will never get done. Maybe set a goal for some number of hours per week that you'll commit to.
My own project has been back-burnered for almost a month now due to a conscious decision to work on some other important house-related stuff. I know that when I get back in the manspace it's going to take me a few hours just to get my "head back into the game" and remember what I wanted to do and how I am going to attack things.
Thanks for the advice...I dont think i could get too relaxed with it, i am too excited to get it done for that. Once the rust bullet gets here i will have a bunch of stuff to do from coating the frame to getting the engine, tranny, t-case and gas tank on. Maybe running that exhuast.
Tommorow i do plan on going to a junk yard and finding some wirthless 8-lug rims and tires to use as rollers so i can throw on the 1-tons.
Greg...Sorry to say i canceled the order on those KM2's. Now that i plan on the 1-tons i need tires for a 16" rim and maybe larger than 35's.

That too relaxed thing cost me about 3 years. The you know I'll work on it next weekend for sure. Everything you've done thus far looks good.

personally ive never seen a project go togther so quick that, the person doing it wasnt get paid to do it.

Stoped by the body shop today as the guy has finaly started working on the truck. He makes his living doing collision work and work for dealerships. His hobby is restoring old mustangs and is doing my truck as it just interested him and he liked it. If he solely worked on my truck he wouldnt make any money to feed his kids, so....Not too worried about it, besides im no where near ready for it anyway.
No thats not where the floor support is going, its just sitting there.

It kinda looks like you're floor supports are the style designed to weld over the old ones instead of replace them. Since you're old supports are semi-transparent

You are probably 100% correct. The guy asked me about them because he didnt think they were correct, but he said he is going to mess with them and get it to work out. Wont be like OEM but shoud work out good. I hope
So....after reading through some of the new posts, especialy Mr. i have a ramjet 502 getting droped into my pristine frame....I decided to get off my ass.
So spent some hours with the wire wheels tearing it up on the inside of my frame, the cleaned with some Acetone and brushed on the RustBullet.
Only got one side done as i want to clean up the other side alittle more tommorow. Also couldnt do the front section yet as i want to wait until my DIY4X crossmember gets here which SHOULD be anyday now
The outside section of the frame was stripped to absolute bare steel and then primed with spray on rustoleum primer and then i used some rubberized coating ontop of that.
I figured the inside should get the good good stuff as if i ever needed to sand and coat that area in the future it would require alot more work as it is hard to get too. The outside is always easy to access.

The Blazer is coming along great! I don't know if you like the style, but the H2 takeoffs are some nice wheels. And can usually be had for cheap on craigalist. Oh and They look wicked hot powdercoated black!
Keep up the progress and try to not get too discouraged..... You took on a huge chunk all at once! I can really simpathize with the whole waiting for parts B.S. That is how my Jimmy turned into a pile of tubes!

gotta be kidding me, i just went to Odum's Junk Yard and picked up some rollers for an amount of money i would rather not talk about.
Thanks for the offer, but i now have some overpriced rollers that are nicer than i wanted sitting in my driveway right next to the old 350, rollbar, core supprt and other random crap that wont fit in the garage.
