Hey wait a minute!!! Haven't you been ever told that the "Military didn't issue you a family"
I always put my family first!!
Family First.
Of course it wasn't tough- the military is going through another stage... So you got a coach instead of a D.I..... They get to expain (pun intended) things. Well, it happens. Something about the computer era and all??

Welcome to year 2!! Any progress since the last update?

Wow...Over a year since i have touched this thread.
Status...The twisted, bent and butchered Tub sits on the bent, hacked up frame. All of which is full of New and mostly new shiny parts.
The Previous Owner left me with a frame that has had the front and rear hacked off and then welded back... Crossmembers had been cut for the use of a PTO and it had been in a nasty accident, as evident by some major bends and twists in the front half. The TUB has been just...well in my attempts and welding and body work with a buddy, i am pretty sure i did more damage than good, plus the TUB was twisted and distorted pretty bad to begin with.
Where does this leave me? Well...Accepting the loss of a couple grand worth of LMC panels on the Tub and the decision to try and purchase this baby.
Its a 72, Never been lifted, mostly rust free body, no serious rust. 700R4 Which i am a fan of, Vintage Air AC set-up....Its a clean truck.
Plans are to enjoy the crap put of it, and slowly, one at a time, start transfering all of the parts meant for the old truck onto this. But for the rest of summer, and probably all of winter i am just gonna throw the soft top i have on it, roll up the sides and enjoy. At most, i might throw the shackle flip and rest of the 4" lift on there, but thats a maybe.
Bank said yes, waiting until the guy gets a night off work to drive it around some before i make a final decision.
What do ya think?
There is something very nice about a real, drivable non-project truck. The best part is that you will have a pile of "cool kid" parts for it...so when you feel like tackling a weekend project you can do it.

Link to a post about the truck...let me know what you think. There is a photo album link a few posts into the thread.
Pretty set on the truck, heading out to drive it, and probably pick it up on friday. Thoughts?
