Story of two '72 K5's build

Well....Let the frame sit on 67-72chevytrucks for a while for $100 but nobody wanted it and with the move to Cali soon It had to go...

Hauled her off along with the 52's, the front springs and some 16.5" steelies that nobody wanted.

Easy 100bucks at the scrap yard, just makes me sad the frame couldnt go to good use....atleast it is back with its body though, somewhere in the same mountain of scrap.

Damm! Are all the front yards that big.

The Front yards are the small bits.....My back yard is well over an Acre, lol Most of it is wood's, maybe 1/4 acre of cleared grass then woods. But outside of my property is woods also, so....

This is the south my friend, we dont pack em in like sardines.

Do you neighbors even realize that their property value has doubled this month?lombardi:sign11:

awe, yes. the 'ol "drive it in on the rims, 'cause it won't fit in the garage" drill. lol, good times! I remember it well.

I refused to pay much money for rims. All the junk yards wanted $25 each for some 15" 6-lug steelies. No way I am paying 100 for something I am going to trash.

So i went exploring around a scrap metal recycling place and dug and dug and dug for 4 completely different rims. And payed $30

The two fronts are only 14" which means i had to take the calipers off.

One of the rears would not clear the drum, so i took the drum off.

Which left me the drivers side, rear Drum brake as my ONLY mans to stop:doah::doah::doah: Did the whole, put it in Drive, jump forward, kill the ignition and roll to a stop. Took about three rounds of that number to get her in there.

lol, hey, whatever gets it into place man! at least you now have a fun winter project to work on.

Yeah man...more like first week in Feb, but yep.

You see, I have this brand new GM crate engine sitting there, been sitting there for over a year. I dont want or need to move across the country with an engine. So i figured, why not throw the brand new one in there before the move instead of rocking the old one and selling the new one?

Gotta have the thing running like a top before wheeling with you guys out there.
