Suburban Chalet?

Did they ever make a "pop-up style" camper to fit blazers???

I've been seriously considering the Chalet/Sub coversion but in my own mind I've changed direction and would rather have a pop-up to keep the roof line lower and and the overall package lighter

i want to see that coachman again, will someone who knows where it is please put its thread link here or post another pic of it here.

..someone posted awhile back, a coachman on a k5 or a truck w/rear wall removed for the camper, i really liked that thing! i haven't been able to find it since..
Something like one of these Chevy truck motorhomes? My parents had a 2wd basically similar pop top version, except the front was an Astro van. You can find those fairly cheap on Craigslist, they're called Tiger Provan GT.

4Wheel brand and Hallmark brand aftermarket campers like this upcoming 6/22 auction one in Denver (misidentified as a "Chalet").

Yeah thats what I want!!! that would be perfect cuz there's no over hang and the roof height is low
Yep - first I had to remember where I saw it.... "stole" kaharsh's 'burb with the removable top from his build thread, swiped the camper from this site, added some more color interest and a chrome rear bumper..... Appears perfectly doable, seems the upper over-cab part of the camper looks lots better on a 'burb. And *sigh* probably more practical overall than a Chalet or a Chalet-'burb.....

I really like the idea of a chalet for a more street oriented truck with some radial 37" tires.

But the sub I'm building now I need to be a trail monster so I guess I'll have to build 2 subbys with blazer backs!!

There is this Chalet cheap in Rochester, NY on Craigslist

1976 Blazer Chalet - $100 (Le Roy)

This is a rare pop up camper made by Chevy for 2 years. I might trade for a motorcycle or dirt bike.

I got the numbers from the plate from the owner too if anyone wants them. Here is his email (minus phone number)

It's made to fit in the back of a truck, but if you look at the pictures you can see 2x6 where someone mounted it on a trailer. It would be a lot easier if you hauled it out of here on a trailer. If that's not possible we can stick it in a truck with some work. 7BCA00979 11 76 electric # 1782804. If it doesn't sell this weekend I could probably keep it till next weekend.

That Suburban Chalet in Fargo ND - the only one I've ever seen as a finished project - is back: http://fargo.craigslist.org/rvs/2301144117.html

*Edit - seller called back, said it was serial #0591 built 8/76, he bought it from a guy in California 4 or so years ago*

**4/6/16 edit - typo above, my old photos show it at #0590**

Interesting that this should be brought up - that same #0590 camper unit on the Suburban appeared 3 years back in a Facebook Marketplace Fargo ND ad with all the same 2011-era Craigslist photos. The FB link still works -- https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/422554385197283/ -- but I wonder if it was legit or was a scam thing. Seller never responded to my inquiry.

Revisiting this old thread if only to illustrate how da interwebs spread urban legend misinformation on these rigs. In my email alert from Google on "blazer chalet" items, they sent me a link to this 3/18/24 Reddit post in which a guy has put up one of the "photochops" seen in post #2 in this thread where our CK5 man dremu had done a May 26, 2009 alteration add-on to a '76 brochure to include a fake Suburban Chalet. Unfortunately Dremu's illustration links have gone non-functional in his old 2009 post, so I have a screengrab of the Reddit post here that includes the first commenter saying, "That Suburban looks awesome, were any produced if so they would be worth $50k !!"
