this is why i tell those that are so pro snappy because of there warranty that they are full of crap.. snap on life time warranty means nothing its all up to the truck monkey!

Theres the problem, our Matco guys have been awesome, the snappy guys are the worst ever. I prefer snappy stuff but rarely buy anything. I work out of my garage so no truck ever stops by but I still prefer the professional grade tools.

The Matco guy calls me once a month to see if he needs to stop by, and if I call him he will find the time to stop by.

I've had great Snap On guys. One good Cornwell guy, and one horrible Cornwell guy, and no Cornwell guy. A great Matco guy, and no Matco guy. A great MAC guy, a really horrible MAC guy, and no MAC guy.

I've never not had a Snap-On guy.

i would buy old snap on hand tools any day over the new stuff, seeing how it comes from china now...and if snap on is a fair value then i guess $5 gal gas is a fair value also..

i wouldnt buy old snappy stuff because they wont warrantee them if they are older than you.

Well, I know reading stuff printed on paper is difficult for some, but the warranty DOES state "to the original purchaser". If you want to be picky about it, fine, but most dealers will warranty it either way.

I take that as a compliment, coming from someone of your gross intelligence. Making claims about things of which you know nothing. If you're going to make ignorant and false claims, at least attempt to back them up.

ya i dont know what it is these past few weeks but a lot of negitive feelings and posts . even a lot more threads taken off topic almost on purpose it seems.

im not far from Algona Iowa, several of my friends work there for snappy..

Since the impact sockets that this discussion started about, are made in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Algona, Iowa is where the KRL and KER Toolboxes are made, I'm not sure what your argument means.

IMO, this means in my opinion.. when i say i would use older snap on stuff its because in my experience the older tools are better made then the newer tools.. how or why do i say this, its simple. the shop i use is owned by my buddy who was in business for over 30yrs. 80% of his tools are from the late 60's early 70's.. they rarely break! now im talking ratchets and sockets.. stuff he has bought in the last 10-15 yrs, again for hand tools, have broke or needed repair several times.. so if you are saying there is no difference in quality from older stuff to todays tools, that is a lie.. just ask any old timer that has owned both the older stuff and new stuff..

No, Snap-on does not make tools in China.


Actually, all the Masters Series, and EPIQ boxes are made with American virgin steel, and slides assembled in a plant in mexico, to Snap-on specs. Glad to clear that up for you, captain vaugeness.

Snap-on sells two lines of tools. One for the professional technician, and a value line (read bluepoint) for the weekend warrior. Your point? To argue your point that tools are made in china is pointless. The blue point line is made in china, taiwan and japan. Glad I could clear that up for you. Please, try and form a complete and coherent argument next time, and won't you try and come up with facts to back your 'points' ?

Your buddy must have miracle tools. To think that tool steel, and technology have not come anywhere in the last 30-40 years is absurd. The newer 1/2 ratchets have a dual-pawl design, tested to hold up to 600ft-lbs. Try that with an old single-pawl design with only 2 teeth in contact with the anvil gear. Let me know how that works out for you. !!

snap on does have a plant in china, ask the former workers in canada where there jobs went.. you are not telling the truth. but from your comments to me and the way you talk to other members on here this doesnt surprise me..

FWIW, sir, the only jobs from canada that made it to china, are the bluepoint roll-carts. The KRA line of classic series boxes are still produced in canuckistan.

The type of person I am, is one that is providing the truth to the people on here, rather than radical opinions about something that I lack true education about.
