Hey Guys,
I am having a VERY VERY VERY hard time getting my 73 into regular 4 Hi. I takes about 20 attempts to get it to grab and it makes some seriously nasty sounds when it does. The weird thing is that if I just pull all the way back it goes into 4 Hi LOC with absolutely no issues. I can also geting into 4 lo and 4 lo LOC with 0 issues as well.

Could this just be an adjustment issue? If so, what should I look at adjusting?

Keep in mind that I can get it into 4 Hi, its just very difficult. I am hoping this is a common issue with an easy solution.

Thanks,
John

Its totally stock so I am guessing drive flanges. There isn't a lever or switch on the hub or anything.

Dang, that twin stick build is pretty cool! When I can get out to some junkyards I will look for a second shifter and give that a shot. For the time being, I will take the shifter off and see what I can make of it. I didn't know there were two levers.

Well, for the time being I found this nice little picture and description of how to adjust the linkage. I am going to try this tomorrow and I am pretty sure it will fix my problem for until I can do the twin stick build.

Where are people getting extra shifter assemblies??? From the junkyard? I couldn't find a single one on ebay.

yeah i got mine from the junkyard. was actually kinda hard to find. not alot of trucks out there with the 203 shifters. found alot of 241 shifters

Well I am happy to report that adjustment worked like a charm! I have all 5 slots now and no more bucking in low speed turns!!!

I can't wait to make a dual shifter so its even better!
