That cage kit has the option of either through the dash or in front of the dash. I prefer through the dash. Its only a cage kit from the B pillars forward. Random brainstorming here, combining the DIY4X cage kit with the S&W family cage kit from the B pillars on back would make a really nice cage for your rig. And I also like the idea of a Rubicon trip in the spring. Just set the date and Im all for it.

Kert at Diy4x will build a rear half cage kit for a K5. Afaik, the reason he hasn't done one yet is no demand.

Honestly, I wasnt aware that a rear half cage kit was even an option. Thats why I came up with the idea of combining Kert's kit with the S&W rear half kit.

I did not know about the back half either. I bet shipping would suck on something like that tho? Hey who's S&W your talking about? I don't think I have heard of them.

Ohh gotch ya. I think my buddy was ganna go that route when he had a K5. I got a awhile before I have to worry about cage work. Ha My list of crap is so long...
Someday I'll be able to play on the rocks again!

I dont recommend their full cage kit because their A pillar downtubes go around the dash and it looks just plain tacky. That is the reason why I suggested using Kert's cage kit from the B pillars forward and combining it with the S&W kit from the B pillars on back.

Have you seen anyone tie the windshield frame into the cage??? I know a roll will happen whether I want to or not and I rather not have windshield frame get destroyed...

I havent seen a setup like that yet but I am pretty sure it could be fabricated.

Yea I have seen it a couple times on other trucks but I haven't seen it on the square body's.

So the lil lady bought me this.
Witch is badass but where my truck and where all the work will be done to is there's no 240 outlet... Ha Pretty bummed on that.
I also got some pictures of the bumper on. Missing body mounts and those bolts on the sides.
Pretty stoked with the outcome of it. Will definitely need a custom grill tho. No way is the a stock one going to fit with out a lot of trimming and no body lift. Plus I plan on getting a Warn and stuffing it in there. Some how at least... Ha
I have tomorrow off but I'm trying to go shooting with the lil lady. Run some handgun drills and shoot my new to me 870! First shotgun so well shell see what happens. This coming up weekend starts my 5 days off so I'm hoping I can get this turd on it's own weight in that time. I think I have everything to get it done after I make a run up to WFO tomorrow morning.

I have a 870 express I like it! 
The grille will be easy, just trim around the winch. That fan might get in the way if the winch is set back against the core support.

Yea I need one cuz I wanna start hunting. I have only heard good things about the older 870s. I guess the newer ones feel a lil cheaper. That's what my buddy was telling me. Been looking for an older one for awhile. And 250 out the door I was sold! The shop I bought it from said they thought it was a cop 870 I haven't looked the serial number up yet but the stock is pretty faded and the forearm looks brand new like sitting in a cop car. I'm not to worried about it tho. May get a new stock may not. Ha

Yea that fan is going for sure... Rather have the efans on the back of the radiator pulling air. The owner before me had that fan wired straight to the battery by claps...

I think mine was just under 300.00 20+ years ago brand new! I`ve not shot it much. But it is a good gun. My kid likes it...I'm left handed so I like my auto left Remington better!
