Super Secretive Build Foolsize

I haven't had the truck all that long and I have chased an electrical issue with it that would put it in limp mode, which can be a problem with the earlier versions. It ended up being an easy fix (I guess) just by unplugging the harness and plug it back in. Haven't had an issue since.

Like you mentioned, a cooler is the key. That, and get a trans temp gauge. Maybe even a deep oil pan. Gotta keep it cool.

I think it would work well for you with the overdrive. Although, I'm not sure what it would take to get it to work in your rig. Probably a stand-alone controller. Mine came with it from the factory, so I don't know much about it.

Gotch ya. The most info I have got about the 4l80s with any motor came up with I'll need a stand alone controller. Tried figuring out that was and how hard it was to install and I couldn't really figure it out... What I have figured out tho is the 4l80s bolt up to the big block and have the same output shaft pattern as a th400. Is this correct? Just trying to figure out what adaptor I'll need.

Very rarely do I run across u-bolts I don't have to squeeze a little to get into the spring plate.

It was in the third hole back on the bumper and at ride height the frame was resting on the leaf so I moved it forward on the bumper. Now at ride height it sits better. The FUSH kit is in the stock location yes.

the shackle angle isn't right the way it sits in that picture

Pretty sure a 4l80e would bolt up to a small block, too. And yes, they have a 32 spline output shaft.

To get the most out of the 52's, I would move the FUSH out of the stock location. I'm running the exact setup (even the A-bomb) and I moved my rear shackle hanger forward. Mine has ridiculous amounts of droop. My springs are in the forward hole on the bumper center. I'm also running 6" shackles

My springs are in the second hole from the front. If I move it back or move the FUSH mount my springs will be resting on the frame. Unless I'm not understanding right. Got any pictures???

In need of tranny

Been looking around for a 4l80e to go behind the 454. Almost got one 600 but I was to late. Found one on Craigslist at a junkyard/shop he was wanting 950 for it. Couple of questions for you smart guys out there. What worrying harness am I going to have to go with and he said it comes with a stock torque converter will that work with the my 454 or should I plan on spending a lil bit for a new one? Just trying to figure out what I'll need to get the 4l80e to work behind the 454.

Thanks guys.

Sorry, just saw this post. I'll see if I can get some for you soon.

See this showed up.

I'll just leave these here for y'all. :)

Also got my hands on a 4l80e. Now I just need to start working on it. Ha

Slight update

Been awhile since I posted anything but it hasn't been just sitting!!! Dropped the tank witch is a huge pain by your self and with about 15 gallons in it, moved my shackle brackets back an inch (did not realize how easy it is to put some new holes in these frames) shackle angle looks WAY better now, since the tank is out I think I'm going to ditch the backing plates/bolts that come with them and go with a single peace of metal to add strength, cleaned the interior out and started scrapping an sweeping out all the dried up mud out so much of it in there, had my buddy weld my tie rod up so now I can at least keep both wheels straight when rolling, ripped apart the np205 so it can take a hot bath and machine out for the bigger bearing, I think that catches y'all up. I don't have many pictures right now just cuz when I was working on it I didn't really feel like stopping and taking pictures... I know I know. I'm sorry guys. I'll snap tomorrow for y'all.

Ok so my plans when I get a couple more dollars are to send my steering box to Redneck Ram having him rebuild it and get his kit. Was wondering what you guys have to say about the Redneck Ram set up??? Has anyone ran both PSC and the Redneck??? I just don't really feel like spending 1200 on the PSC.

I want to push the tank up to gain some ground clearance. I was just thinking about pushing it up into the cab. The tank that was under there is smashed up quite a bit so I'm on the hunt for either a fuel cell if the deal is right or just find a stock tank an make it work.

So much work that still needs to be done but I'm slowly crossing things off the list. Still shooting for Blazer Bash 2016! Got 18 more months to get it driving an get a couple shack down runs. I think I can make it.

the used hydro setup I bought consists of a redneck steering box and a PSC ram. The PO used it for years with no issues, I haven't had a chance to install it yet though.

So what makes the PSC kit for our trucks so amazing? The ram or the box??? Does they're kit come with everything needed?

It's arguably better quality than anything else on the market and I've heard the pump is definitely worth the extra coin.

There are lots of "kits" so I'm not sure what you're referring to.
