We had to hold ups that happened the first one was on my rig, i dragged the 14bff across a rock and that lower bolt hole in the cover that i didn't shave flush broke free and started leaking a little bit, so a little rtv and a big washer held me together for the rest of the day and drive home.
The other was chicken's front left tire popped off the bead, so a ratchet strap and some Co2 later we were up and running again.

A good picture of the crew after a fun day.

Back to the garage,
First things first, fix the broken. So the rear diff cover needed some fab so i figured i'd shave it some more. . . . so i did but first i filled the lower bolt hole, i put a grade 8 bolt in there and threw the impact gun on it and cut it off and sanded it smooth.
IMG_1231.jpg

Then i plated the bottom half of the cover with some 1/4" plate and welded in the bottom hole of the cover and sanded it all out.

IMG_1233.jpg

shaved a little more off the bottom of the housing and the cover to flush it all up

so then i was the proud owner of a 13bff

I also got around to installing the ram for the hydro but i don't think i ever took any pictures of the process that was pretty long. I tried making a couple of different mounts from the tube to get the ram level with the tie rod, after i had one made that was in a good position, i really wasn't happy with the way it looked and went back to my original plan, mounting it to the spring plate.
Overall I'm extremely happy with the result and how well the assist works, I know now why people swear by it.
here are the 2 pictures i have of it they're dark and don't show much but.
IMG_1276.jpg

as you can see the ram is perfectly inline with the tie rod.

So just realized that you live 5 minutes from my house, Tops ha ha.

Got bored on sunday since it was raining and we went out driving around getting the feel of this place and found your house and noticed the blazer up on those 37's now. Looks good.

You ever been to the Tavern Grille right there at the shopping center at the Scott exit? The Wife and I, and my buddy who lives with me go eat/drink there pretty often. Cool little place with some real good food.

So it's been a little crazy around here lately haven't had much time to update my progress. But, I went out to TDS 2012 and broke a ton, and it was the wifes first time camping but that was her birthday present to me, so all and all i had a really good time.
for some reason my rear drive shaft decided to start eating u-joints at the t-case i had one snap on the drive out to truckhaven i always carry a spare for each on in the truck, but i never thought to grease them before just tossing them in the tool box. so i broke that one about 35 miles and some very mild wheeling. so i drove in front wheel drive about 20 miles away to a auto parts store that only exists on google maps and made the mistake of trying to make a 3 point turn on pavement with a front locker, so in turn snapped a front axle joint and mangled the ears on the shafts, so now i was really stuck, so PBlaze had a spare front shaft in his rig so i stole a joint out of that and replaced the rear shaft one. His comment went something like "I know you didn't want to change that u joint in the sand but we didn't have to drive 20 miles outta the way to do it" so we got back to camp and since i had spare axles we went to town fixing the front end. Which proved to be a real monster to do since the ears were so badly bent out so i couldn't get it out of the knuckle until someone lent me a sawzall at the cost of a couple beers and an extra large glow stick. Huge thanks to Paul (PBlaze) for sticking with me and helping out with my constant breaking and for inviting me and the wife out to share a campsite.
