Swapping K5 to truck tailgate and lift glass

Personally, I would sandblast that tailgate, weld up the cracks and paint to match the truck.

For plexiglass back window, are you talking about temporary? You could try something like what @76zimmer did, but with a hinged or flexible piece at the bottom (out of clear, not white of course)
Yea, hinged flexible plexi is what I'm thinking. Down the road I will have it painted and fixed up. I dont have the $$ for that just yet at least the paint unless I just rattle can it. But we'll see

Looks too curved. Did you already go with truck gate? Not sure why a temporary solution is needed.

I noticed that as well, it's not straight.

I was interested in doing the hard top with a truck tailgate to get rid of the weight and the glass. But I'm also torn in that I want a soft top as well. So I was seeing what's the best option would be. I don't really have room to store the hard top so I wanted to see what options I have with the truck tailgate and getting rid of the glass blazer tailgate, after I read your thread in what you did.

but I'm also concerned about the ease in which the soft top makes the truck a theft target in my driveway.

I have time, so I just browse for camper shells and this one initially looked like it may work. I didn't notice the curve right away.

If you're still looking to get the paint off, use epoxy remover.

Paint it on in one direction only, then cover it with foil and let it sit for a few hours. It'll scrape right off.

Just don't let it dry all the way before you scrape.
I had the same issue with the topper glass. If you can find a replacement, it costs almost as much as the topper. Stick with used, just keep looking and you'll find something you can fit in there pretty easy.

I've used that before to remove powder coat, it doesn't even take hours, 10 - 15 minutes twice, maybe 3 times tops, and it's bare. I got it at home depot I believe.

I think it's the only thing that we have in this state that the government hasn't watered down, made safe or otherwise completely ruined. I can't even find mineral spirits anymore.
