Sway bar or crossover steering?

That's where I think the whole sway bar issue really comes into play, are the different spring rates and heights. I'm running a 4" Rough Country EZ ride lift, which I found out they switched all their current lifts over to this, I think that's why they got a bad rap several years back, they probably did ride rough. I personally don't think they ride as harsh as my buddys Pro Comp lift.

I also, in the past 2 years, have removed the lower leaf of the pack to kinda help with it's harshness at quick bumps, like speed bumps and such, smoothed it out quite a bit, it did lower just a tad, but nothing i'm worried about.

With this setup, if I don't have the sway bar hooked up, it's driveable, but there is a definate body roll feeling and overall squishy soft side to side swaying feeling in longer sweeping turns, corners and such. I personally prefer the bar hooked up. Which is why I run the discos, unhook them for trails, put em back on for the street. I haven't really been in too bad of spots with the 4" lift to warrant the expense and labor involved for crossover steering. Maybe if it was a more dedicated off road truck I would consider it more.

Another vote for keeping the swaybar and using discos. I don't have any experience with cross over tho. I tow a 10' interstate trailer and have a work canopy and I like the stability with the swaybar. And the discos made a nice improvement in ride quality.

Reviving this post from the the dead. I really want to run crossover, but I know I'm going to be driving my K5 on Texas interstates at at 75 MPH. Has anyone successfully ran a sway bar with x-over steering?

The amount of money it costs to cobble a swaybar on with crossover is easily double the cost of two nice front shocks. Which does the same thing minus the drawbacks.

I've been running 4 years now with cross over and no sway bar. Perfectly happy with it. I've got 4" Rough Country springs all the way around, and they are fairly stiff - probably why I don't miss the sway bar. I can easily run 75 with a boat in tow with no worries.

been years since no sway bar on my trucks and stock push/pull steering with 35" or 38" tires bias and radial .

does just fine no problems.

I've ran for a couple years now with no bar. Don't miss it.

How about this, disconnect the bar from the spring pads, wire it up out of the way and drive it for awhile and see what you think. Easy way to tell if it will work for you.

yeah
38s, rear locker, soft 56s in rear, TC 4" in front, X-over, basic bilsteins, no bar
whatever speed I'm willing to push it, it doesn't care
besides, TX is flat with straight roads lol

do what Av8ter said, you'd be surprised how much better it rides

I have really soft springs with crossover. I was getting quite a bit of body roll, terrible bump steer, and the steering wheel would never center. I added a track/panhard bar and it's drives like it's on rails now. Don't notice any difference in handling whether truck is empty or has 2k lbs on the deck.

There's a bit more road feel transferring through the truck for sure but it still articulates great. The bar has heim joint ends

When you remove the sway bar and think there isn't much body roll, that's kind of the definition of stiff springs. The better the shocks, the more they control body roll. So a Bilstein 5100 is like the cheapest thing that helps.
