Swettysblazer's 1991 K5 Trazer: ONE TONS!

A lot to be said for a running rig Brian!
The Maiden was down for 1-1/2 yrs, I had the Jeepster as a backup, but sure will be good to wheel the Maiden again.
Whatever you do, plan as much as possible in advance and do it in stages to minimize downtime. Once they start sitting, its too easy to forget about em.

I hear you there. I get out and wheel about 6-10 times a year so I don't like having the truck down for an extended period of time if I can help it. We'll see what happens

Andddd we are gonna bump this one too....

Its been over a year since I had the truck out. Last trip out, I broke the steering box off the frame. An ear cracked and broke off. We were able to make it back to camp under our own power and wheel a little more, but that was last May (I think). Truck sat for a while- basically until this spring. I put a new box in it, went over my steering again and I think I figured out what went wrong (not enough throw on the ram, but I have it limited right now).

Before all that, though, I put 5.38's in.... man what a difference. The reduction with the low of the 241 really made this a whole different animal. With the 39's, beadlocks and the gears this thing is a whole different animal. I wanna get it ready for a fall trip hopefully. So my plan now is to go through it, check all the fluids, bolt check, etc. and do another wheeling trip with it. The body is pretty smoked now but it still works good for what it is.

Hopefully I will get better about updating this, but its more fun wheeling than typing. Oh well.

What’s the new Mrs think of this?

She likes going. We've been out a few times and she hasn't told me she doesn't want to go. She doesn't understand the obsession with it sometimes, but she is definitely tolerant and that's all that I ask. Although she may be bad luck.... the truck has broke the last two times she went with me hahahah
