Swettysblazer's 1991 K5 Trazer: ONE TONS!

Looks good!
Why is it when ever there is more than one guy together from Ck5 one of them is on a phone Documenting or posting a pic!

I don't know why you wouldn't bob the frame if you are doing away with the Blazer body.

This would depend on how long a cargo area you want, no?

Brian - what are you going to do for a fuel tank? I assume the original tank no longer fits with the bobbed frame, so you'll be running fuel from some other location.

Looking good man, can't wait to see this thing finished up.

I know it's very early in the build, but what is your goal for a finish date?

Right now, not sure. Most likely some kind of fuel cell. Other than that I need to look at the truck with the cab on and see what I want to do for a bed first.

Honestly, I think I can get it done by the end of next month no problem. It's going to depend on how intricate I get and if I pick up anything else along the way....

No real work on the truck lately since Rich left.... I did manage to get one brake line run :D just been kinda busy with other stuff and with the shop being an hour away it's hard for me to find time during the week and I'd rather go down on a weekend....

Next step in the process is to finish welding the crossmember, change the rest of the fuel/brake lines, and then I can test fit the cab!!!!!

Speaking of the cab, has anybody moved their battery to the firewall? I am thinking I wanna run a Summit heater just to get rid of the huge heater box and A/C because I really have no use for air conditioning. Anybody have pics of a firewall battery and summit heater install?????

Ryoken has his batteries mounted to the firewall I believe. Not sure what heater he has though

Progress.... It's been slow going since Rich came down to help me out for multiple reasons, but I was able to make a BIG step towards getting the cab on yesterday. I wound up boxing the frame where the new crossmember went to help with some added support and rigidity. Boxed it with 1/4 inch plate. Holy crap was that stuff a bear to cut out.... took me about an hour to get them cut with a sawzall and a cut off wheel.... And here's my dad getting in on some of the welding action ;)

So, a big step towards finishing this thing was made today. We were able to test fit the cab. From hear on out, it is going to pretty much be putting everything back together. My measurements were a little off on the plates I put on the crossmember, but 5 minutes with the grinder and they were off and ready to go. I just got a lot more motivated to get this thing done after seeing the cab on it. trazer3.jpg trazer2.jpg trazer1.jpg
