Switching TBI over to Carb, performance gains?

Yeah, it's not like running a carb is really going to cost all that much unless you buy one of the super fancy ones. (could never see myself spending big $$$ on a carb, but thats me. )

Don't cut the wiring, keep all the parts, and see how you like the carb. Heck, what you enjoy doing off-road might change in that timeframe as well. You can ALWAYS sell off the TBI stuff if you realize the carb works for you.

I can see any of the stock systems really limiting you in the mud, none of it was made for high RPM power, the cam alone is going to be a huge factor. (not to mention the TBI heads, throttle body, intake, and so on)

I don't think I'll ever be happy with a carb again. If I was solely racing, or doing something like mud 100% of the time where it's pedal to the metal always, then a carb might still work for me. In those situations, the difference between EFI and carb is blurry.

Unless this mud bog or race is up in the mountains....a carb will get its ass kicked because of the atmospheric changes... unless you want to spend 45 minutes tuning before every bog or race.

Like i said before your not being "limited" with tbi unless you plan to make over 375 ponies. But you will have to buy a new intake, bigger tbi, different cam, etc.

Since i bought my stuff new and paid 1k you could shop around and probably get a used 670 cfm tbi for 150(i paid 350).

MPFI is a real good idea... had i known my tbi setup would cost me almost as much as edelbrocks mpfi system i would have 8 injectors instead of 2.
