Yeah that's the worst. If it's a pure rock crawler I'd suggest a rear stretch because of the departure angle that you gain. Short wheelbases can always benefit from a longer rear driveshaft. Dont forget to consider shocks and exhaust when moving the axle.
Swapping the springs is not for everyone.
It's a desert only truck so switching things around and cutting up is no problem. Everything is open right now because it's gutted underneath. Plenty of time to finish up....
Oh wait, just thought of a drawback. You might want to run an "Anti-wrap bar" if you find the rear spring wrapping while trying to climb stuff. I run one, helps with the bounce/bucking you get when trying to climb something.
