Tank for my 84, baffle or not too baffle.

Looks good! Yes prep is key!

My trucks get a bath in Fluid Film... VERY nasty to work on!

Oh, whats it take, 2 cans per tank.... give or take?

i got 2 decent coats with 1 1/4 can for each 20 gal tank . might have had a few tiny spots i missed .

so if doing 1 tank and want to be sure grab 2 cans and dump it on .

stuff comes out fast so be prepared to move the can fast . not like a paint spray job .

Roger that!

just dropped my 2 tanks in there brackets with new roofing tar paper and i got a few spots to touch up a bit i missed and 1 i scrapped up good .

also fyi : wack the seam are's almost flat down were the strap / bracket sections are . make them drop in better .

Thanks for the tip on the seam. Hey, dumb question. The tank mounts, they are different passenger to drivers side..
Yes??

not per say . front and back yes .

but if factory installed and not replacment then yes left / right for the front unit for the hole position the nuts were welded on that holds them to the truck frame . but super easy to work around .

I have a set out mounts from my passenger side tank (tanks out). I figured I would clean /paint them if they are the same. To save time before the drivers side tank arrived .

you can . just need to weld on some 3/8" nuts in the extra holes so the bracket is universal side to side . the slope of the frame were the front bracket bolts on they sloped the hole pattern so it would fit better . so thats why left / right on the front hanger are specific if its already got welded on nuts .

but then again you dont have to weld nuts on . you can do it the hard way . . . 2 wrenches and tape and hold the nut on 1 side and start the bolt on the other and hope . . . .
