tcase/u joint/rear driveshaft=broken

There are two big bolts on the back of the T-case about 13/16" I think..I always just use a crescent wrench. Anyway the top one is the fill. Fill until fluid comes out the hole. It's easiest with a pump, but I have used a long skinny funnel before:wink1:

okay, this will be my last question for this topic.

i attached the new ujoint on the yoke and went ahead and replaced the ujoint for the axle as well(learned about the 2 sized ujoint). all i have to do now is replace all of the trans fluid that came out of the tcase.

first question is....how many quarts of trans fluid will the tcase need, i have 5 quarts.

second question is...does the truck need to be running while i pour it in?

1. Unless you completely drained it, you shouldn't need more than a quart.
If you did completely drain it, I dunno. :D

2. No.

LoL... well, just open the fill plug and start filling. It won't be any more than 5qts, so you should be ok.

the t-case holds 4-1/2 quarts for the 208.

to make sure it is full just put your finger inside the fill plug, you shouldn't have to reach far to feel the fluid. anywhere from the fill plug to around a 1/4 of an inch down should be fine
