Teck's '86 K5 Build -5.3 LS/4L65E swap

Thanks everybody.
Some days I just have to slowed down think about what or how I'm do some of this, because i'm trying not to cut any corners sense I want it to be drivable so bad I can almost taste it.
Just have along list of small things to get done so it I can get it fired up.
Hopefully it won't be much long.

Thanks, but y'all make me feel like I've gone to far over the edge with this build.:doah:
not at all. sure, I never thought about making mine so clean I could eat off of it, or do surgery in the engine bay, but thats just me. :pimp:

Look what this site has caused me to do.:haha::haha::haha:

It all just started out as just a clean rebuild and now this is what I'm ending up with.

That is why I'm building it, to drive it not to just have it sit.:D

Everybody that sees it kids me that about taking out in the mud when it is done.:haha:

Got the steering filled with fluid and blead this evening. Now for the brakes. I hate bleeding brakes.

Mud thats funny you take hunks of junk like mine out in the mud!

Not a good evening work on the Blazer. Tried to finish the brakes tonight, had a couple of the lines that leak, got them all tight and thought I had it all good. Then about 30 minutes later I look and the new master cylinder, that I painted, was leaking at the seal to the reservoir:sign27:

So I almost lost it. What a F'n mess

Took it back to O'reilly's and got a new one. Will try again after this one is painted.

I did get the rear bumper back on along with the filler piece and receiver hitch that were powdercoated.

Stupid brake fluid... didnt i read something a long time ago that dot 5 brake fluid does not eat paint?

Not sure of that.
I used dot 4 I think, well the 2 quarts I got tonight are.

just a thought, Not sure if you do or not but do you bench bleed the master first before you install it and bleed the brakes ?

Like everyone else has said your truck and attention to detail are by far one of the best I have seen.

Yes I did on the first one.
And I will beach bleed this one too.
Not sure why it started leaking about 3 hours after I put fluid in. Just glad I was still at the shop to see it. Not find it a day or two later.

those cleaned up nice! solvent and brush, or something else?

Teck you sure give me the drive to want to rebuild mine right. I just have to wait a few years to save up and come back from an overseas tour that won't let me bring it with me. :frown1:
